Vegan Cuts - Mayo '14

¡Buenas tardes, chicas!
Hoy es un día especial para mi, porque es mi cumpleaños, ¡24 que me caen! Así que ha sido una grata sorpresa encontrar al levantarme mi cajita de Vegan Cuts, como si fuese un regalo de cumple. Tras el fracaso con Birchbox, tenía un pocas esperanzas en quedar contenta con alguna caja, pero he de decir que, en este caso, vino exactamente todos los productos que dijeron, en los tamaños que enseñaron ellos mismos en fotos, ¡así que genial!
Vegan Cuts es una suscripción mensual que incluye entre 4 y 7 productos al mes, tanto "full-size" como muestras, de marcas 100% cruelty-free, mayormente de productos orgánicos y naturales, y, por supuesto, veganos. Me parece una idea genial para las personas que estamos interesadas en este tipo de productos, ya que facilita mucho conocer nuevas marcas. También me parece la suscripción ideal para veganos o personas que apoyemos la cosmética cruelty-free, ya que con esta suscripción podemos estar tranquilas con todos los productos.

Today is a special day for me because it's my birthday, I'm 24 years old now! So I was pleasantly surprised when I got up to find that my Vegan Cuts box just arrived, like if it was a birthday gift. After the failure with Birchbox, I had little hope with any other monthly subscription, but I have to say that, in this case, it came with exactly all the products that they said, in the sizes that they showed themselves in pictures, so that's great!
Vegan Cuts is a monthly subscription that includes 4 to 7 items per month, both "full-size" and samples, from brands which are 100% cruelty-free, mostly organic and natural products, and, of course, vegan. It sounds like a great idea for people like me who are interested in this kind of products, as you can get to know many new brands. I also think it's great for vegans or people who want to support cruelty-free cosmetics, because with this subscription we can use every single product without feeling bad or guilty.

La caja de este mes incluía 3 productos full-size, un producto tamaño viaje, y dos muestras. En este caso, el precio de los productos recibidos supera con creces el del precio que pagamos (incluso teniendo en cuenta que el envío a España nos sale caro), como os resumiré más adelante.

This month's box included 3 full-size products, a travel size product, and two samples. In this case, the price of the products received far exceeds the price we paid (even considering shipping to Spain, which is quit high), as I will summarize below.

Empezaré con los productos más peques.
En primer lugar, viene una muestra de protector solar corporal de la marca Goddess Garden Organics. A día de hoy no tengo ningún protector solar orgánico, y la verdad es que tenía muchas ganas de probar uno, aunque con la muestra me imagino que me dará para un uso o dos. La talla original tiene un precio de 19'99$.

I'll start with the smaller products. 
In the first place, we have a sample of body sunscreen by the brand Goddess Garden Organics.  I haven't got any organic sunscreen, and the truth is that I really wanted to try one, though I imagine that I would only get a couple of uses from this sample. The original size is priced at $19.99.

También tenemos una muestra del perfume Halona de Tallulah Jane. No estaba demasiado entusiasmada por recibir una muestra tan pequeña, ¡¡pero huele de miedo!! Es como una mezcla de lima, jengibre y especias, y la talla original tiene un precio de 58$.

We also have a perfume sample: Halona by Tallulah Jane. I was not too excited to receive such a small sample, but it smells amazing! It's like a mixture of lime, ginger and spices, and the original size it is priced at $58.

Luego tenemos una máscara de pestañas fortificante de la marca Lauren Brooks, en el tono Onyx. No se trata realmente de una "muestra", sino de la talla de viaje, que está valorada en 9$. Esta se va directa a mi mini-neceser de bolso, porque no ocupa nada.

Then we have a lash-strenghtening mascara by the brand Lauren Brooks in the shade Onyx. This is not really a "sample", but a travel size product, which is valued at $9. This goes straight to my handbag, because it's perfect to carry around.

Y por fin llegamos a los productos "full-size". En primer lugar, tenemos los polvos translúcidos para sellar el maquillaje de la marca Gourmet Body Treats. Además de ser veganos y cruelty-free, están libres de parabenes, GMO, y gluten.

And finally we have the "full-size" products. First of all, we have the translucent raw finishing powder by the brand Gourmet Body Treats  In addition to being vegan and cruelty-free, this is free of parabens, GMO, and gluten.

Vienen con su difusor, además de una almohadilla que evita que el polvo se salga por todas partes, cosa que me encanta. Como dije, es la talla original, y tiene un precio de 32$.

It comes with a sifter, along with a pillow that keeps the powder in its place, which I love. As I said, it's the original size and is priced at $32.

En segundo lugar tenemos otro producto que me ha encantado recibir, ya que ahora mismo en YouTube hay un "boom" de productos para "texturizar" el pelo, y me llamaban mucho la atención, pero los únicos que he encontrado en España se salen de mi presupuesto, y testan en animales. Ya había oído hablar de este, sobre todo a chicas con el pelo rizado, y estaban encantadas con el producto, ¡veremos qué tal funciona! Contiene sales del mar muerto, extracto de semillas de lino, y hierbas. No he encontrado el precio, pero creo que el de este tamaño es de unos 7$.

Then, we have another product that I loved to receive, because right now on YouTube there is a "boom" of gurus talking about products for "texturizing" hair, and I was really interested in trying them, but the only ones I've found here in Spain are out of my budget, and not cruelty-free. I had already heard about this one, especially from girls with curly hair, and they were delighted with the product, so we will see how it works! 
It contains Dead Sea salts, linseed extract, and herbs. I have not found the price, but I think this size is about $7.

Por último, tenemos un producto estrella: Youth de Skinagain.
Hubiese preferido que me tocase el Vanish de la misma marca (para celulitis y estrías), pero me ha tocado el Youth, indicado para combatir la apariencia de arrugas, manchas, pérdida de elasticidad, e hiperpigmentación. En la propia web podemos ver fotos de antes y después de usar sus productos, y como creo que aún soy joven para usar esta crema, se la voy a dar a mi madre, que es la candidata perfecta, y ya os contaremos qué tal le va.
Tiene un precio de 64$.

Finally, we have an amazing product: Youth by Skinagain.  I would have preferred to get the other one that some people got in there VCbox, which is Vanish (for cellulite and stretch marks), but the one that I got on my box was Youth, indicated to combat the appearance of wrinkles, dark spots, loss of elasticity, and hyperpigmentation. In the website itself we can see the before and after pictures of the clients that have been using their products, and, as I think I am still too young to use this cream, I'm going to give it to my mother, who is the perfect candidate, and I will tell you how it works on her. It costs $64.

La caja tiene un precio de 19'95$ al mes, aunque, por desgracia, los gastos de envío a España son caros: 15$. Aun pagando los exhorbitantes gastos de envío, la caja nos sale por 34'95$ (algo menos de 26€), por lo que el contenido supera en más de 77$ el precio que pagamos.
En este caso considero que es una caja que sí merece la pena (incluso con el envío desde EEUU), especialmente para aquellas personas interesadas en la cosmética natural y vegana.
También disponen de una suscripción mensual de snacks veganos.

The box is priced at $19.95 per month, but unfortunately, the shipping to Spain is expensive: $15. Even paying that exorbitant shipping costs, the box costs $34.95  (a bit less than 26€), so even with that price, the content of the box will be more than $77 over the price we paid.
In this case I really think that this box is worth it (even with the shipping from the U.S.), especially for those interested in natural and vegan cosmetics.

Boho Cosmetics - Blush and Eyeliner

Hoy vengo a hablaros de una marca francesa que ha sido todo un descubrimiento para mi: Boho Cosmetics. Varias bloggers enseñaron algunos de sus productos, ya que venían con las Essentia Box, pero la pega es que los productos que hoy enseño no se venden en España (sólo online). Aun así, probé un par de ellos, y hoy vengo a contaros mi opinión.

Today I come to speak about a French brand that has been a revelation to me: Boho Cosmetics  Several bloggers showed some of their products, since they came with a Essentia Box, but the downside is that the products are not sold in physical stores in Spain (they are just available online). Still, I tried a couple of them, and today I come to tell you my opinion.

Lo primero es el colorete Bois de Rose (Rosewood). Se trata de un producto con un 99% de ingredientes de origen natural, y un 10% de origen ecológico. El packaging es de cartón, y es muy ligero, aunque la tapa protege bien el producto. Pigmenta muy bien. Mi única pega es que el tono me sienta FATAL. Yo había leído que era un tono rojizo, pero, como veis, en mi piel es muy marrón, y no me favorece en absoluto. Personalmente, lo recomendaría para pieles más oscuras que la mía.
Contiene 4'5gr. de producto, y tiene un precio de 11'70€.

The first is the Bois de Rose (Rosewood) blush. It is a product with 99% ingredients of natural origin, and 10% of organic origin. The packaging is made ​​of cardboard and is very light, while the cover protects the product nicely. Its pigmentation is great. The only downside is that the shade is not great for me. El siguiente es el producto que me tiene completamente enamorada: el Green Liner. En este caso, el 99% de los ingredientes son de origen natural, y el 20% de los mismos son de origen ecológico.

The following product is the one that I absolutely love: the Green Liner. In this case, 99% of the ingredients are of natural origin, and 20% of them are from organic origin.

El mío es el tono 01, un negro muy intenso, que deja un acabado mate, y está disponible en otros dos tonos (marrón y azul) . La punta es de fieltro, que son mis preferidas. Me dura todo el día intacto, y puedo usarlo tambiéna ras de las pestañas inferiores, aunque no es waterproof. Además, es muy fácil de desmaquillar, ya que tengo otros eyeliners líquidos que duran todo el día, pero que, sin embargo, me cuesta desmaquillar. Para mi es el "producto estrella", y me encantaría que lo vendiesen en España, ya que se convertiría sin duda en un fijo de mi neceser.
Contiene 3ml de producto, y tiene un precio de 10'90€. 

Mine is the shade 01, a very intense black, that has a matte finish and is available in two other shades (brown and blue). It has a felt tip, which are my favorites. It lasts all day intact, and I can also use it on the lower lashline, although it is not waterproof. It is also very easy to remove with makeup remover, since I have other liquid eyeliners that last all day, but, however, I find them hard to remove. For me it is the best that I've tried from this brand, and my favorite eyeliner,  so I would love to have it in Spain, as it would become definitely a must producto on my vanity.
Contains 3ml of product, and is priced at €10'90.

Hoy os traigo una entrada que me ha llevado bastante tiempo, ya que he estado probando los productos durante tres meses para poderos dar información sobre los mismos en profundidad. Os presento la marca australiana de maquillaje ecológico Nvey Eco. La marca no utiliza en sus productos ni aceites minerales, ni nanopartículas, ni petróleo, ni talco, ni parabenos, ni SLS ni derivados, ni propilenglicol, ni derivados del petróleo, ni OMG, y, por supuesto, no testa en animales.
Lo primero que voy a presentaros es su base de maquillaje "Creme Deluxe Flawless Foundation". Como veis, al maquillaje lo recubre una ligera capa brillante que desaparece una vez pasamos el dedo por encima.

Today I bring you a blogpost that has taken me a long time since I've been testing the products for three months to give information about them in depth. I'm glad to introduce you the organic Australian makeup brand Nvey Eco. This brand don't uses in their products any mineral oils, nanoparticles, oil, talc, parabens, SLS or derivatives, propylene glycol, petroleum, GMOs, and, of course, their products have not been tested on animals.
The first thing I'm going to show you is its "Creme Deluxe Flawless Foundation". As you can see below, the makeup is covered by a thin sparkly layer that disappears once we pass the finger over it.

El tono que yo escogí entre los 10 disponibles, fue el más claro (876 Cool Ivory). Según la web, es el tono indicado para pieles blancas de matices rosados. Me daba pánico que no contrarrestase mis rojeces y verme demasiado rosa, pero acerté de lleno con el tono.

The shade that I choose from the 10 shades available, was the fairiest one (876 Cool Ivory). According to the website, is suitable for pale skins with pink undertones. I was scared that my redness were too obvious and that it might look too pink, but I was right with my choice.

En el compartimento de abajo encontraréis una esponja para aplicar el producto, que yo no he usado para nada. La primera capa de producto es bastante durita, así que decidí utilizar las manos para calentar el producto, y una vez calentado, es muy cómodo de usar. Por ésta misma razón, no uso brochas para aplicar ésta base. 

In the compartment below you will find a sponge to apply the product, which I have not used at all. The first layer of the product is quite hard, so I decided to use my hands to warm the product, and once heated, it is very convenient to use. For this same reason, I do not use brushes to apply this foundation.

Aquí podéis ver lo que causa el estrés en mi piel. Horrible, ¿verdad? A la derecha podéis comprobar el resultado tras aplicar ésta base. Es verdad que la cobertura no es total, y que si quiero terminar de ocultar mis "problemas", tengo que recurrir al corrector, pero para el día a día la cobertura que me ofrece me parece más que suficiente. Entre los ingredientes encontramos bastantes aceites, pero mi piel no ha reaccionado mal ante ellos a pesar de ser mixta/grasa y con tendencia acnéica, y me ha funcionado bien siempre que la he utilizado. Eso sí, si tenéis la piel grasa no salgáis de casa sin matificar, puesto que al contener tantos aceites, sin unos polvos encima, acabaréis brillando como si hubieseis pasado 10 horas seguidas en el gimnasio. Una vez matificada, la base me dura una jornada laboral sin problemas, aunque salen brillos pasadas las horas.

Here you can see what stress causes to my skin. Horrible, isn't it? On the right side you can see the result after applying this foundation. It is true that the coverage is not full, and if I want to finish hiding my "issues", I have to use a bit of concealer, but for the daily use, the coverage offered seems more than enough to me. Among the ingredients we can find several different oils, but my skin has not reacted badly to them despite being combination/oily and acne-prone, and it has worked well as long as I have used it. But take care, if you have oily skin do not leave your house without mattifying your face with some powder, because, since it contains many oils, without some powder over it, you'll end up shining as if you had spent 10 hours in the gym. Once mattified, this foundations lasts on me a working day without many problems, although it gets a bit oily thought the hours.

I think that this is a product that I will get much more out when Fall arrives, because right now, the heat of Madrid, doesn't help to moisturizing foundations.

El siguiente producto que he estado probando es un labial de la marca, en concreto el 365 Viva, un nude muy bonito. Es el primer nude con el que realmente me sentí cómoda, ya que creo que favorece bastante (podéis vérmelo en una foto de Instagram). He de decir que es un producto un poco duro (duro, que no seco, ya que mantiene la hidratación del labio), y si tenemos los labios mal, puede marcarnos las pielecitas. Mi combo preferido ha sido combinar éste labial con el gloss Maia de ALMOND Cosmetics (el cual también podéis ver cómo queda en Instagram).
Está formulado a base de aceite de ricino orgánico con cártamo calmante, cera de abejas y vitamina E.

The next product I've been testing is a lipstick from the brand, specifically the 365 Viva, a very pretty nude color. It is the first nude with which I felt really comfortable, and I think that it looks so nice (you can see how it looks on an Instagram photo). I must say that the product is a little hard (hard, not dry, because it keeps the lips moisturized), and if we have bad lips, it can look a bit flaky. My favorite combo is to combine this with my Maia lip gloss from ALMOND Cosmetics (which you can also see how it looks on Instagram).

It is formulated with organic castor oil with soothing safflower, beeswax and vitamin E.

Although it is not the best lipstick in my collection, I get a lot of security on the issue of ingredients, for the type of policy that the company has.

Como sabéis, tengo debilidad por los coloretes, y he de decir que el de ésta marca me encanta. Escogí el tono 953 Blushing Peach, un tono muy natural, que queda precioso en pieles pálidas, y es perfecto para esos días que queremos darnos un toque en las mejillas sin añadir un colorete de un tono marcado (por ejemplo, para cuando llevemos unos ojos muy potentes). En la web lo definen como un "rosa paño con un toque melocotón", y podemos encontrar otros 7 tonos distintos.

As you know, I have a weakness for blushes, and I must say that of this brand I love. I chose the 953 Blushing Peach, a very natural shade, which looks lovely on pale skin, and is perfect for those days when we want to give us a hint on the cheeks without adding any extra color (for example, when we have a powerful eye look).
On the website they define the color as a "pink cloth with a hint of peach", and we can find further 7 different shades.

El packaging es muy fino y resistente, por lo que resulta muy cómodo para llevar a cualquier parte, e incluso tendremos un espejo con el que poder retocarnos.

The packaging is very hard and thin, so it is very convenient to carry anywhere, and we also will have a mirror with which we could touch up our makeup.

Está formulado con seda de maíz, manzanilla, jojoba, y contiene vitaminas A, C y E para proteger a la piel de los radicales libres. Es ideal para pieles sensibles, y dura todo el día intacto. Es el producto de la marca con el que más contenta he quedado, y repetiría sin duda con algún otro color.

This blush has been formulated with corn silk, chamomile, jojoba, and contains vitamins A, C and E to protect the skin against free radicals. It is ideal for sensitive skin, and lasts intact all day long. It is the product of the brand with which I have been happier, and I would certainly repeat with another color.

This blush might not seem too interesting in the pan, but when applied on the cheeks gives a very natural and flattering look. Is the typical shade that I would use whenever I do not know what blush to wear, and for me it has become a must.

Os recomiendo cotillear la web de Biou. El trato al cliente es excelente, el envío es muy rápido (1-2 días laborables), y podemos incluso buscar productos según el tipo de certificado que prefiramos (Ecocert, Vegan, Cruelty-Free...). Me parece una web súper completa y bien estructurada. Además, así podemos comprar tranquilamente en la web sin tener que investigar la política de la empresa de cualquier producto, puesto que nos la indican ellos mismos. Lo mejor es que en el mismo apartado de certificados, podemos ver lo que implica el certificado en cuestión.

The customer service is excellent, the shipping is very fast (1-2 working days in Spain), and you can even search for products based on the type of certificate that you prefer (Ecocert, Vegan, Cruelty-Free...). It is a very complete shop, and very  well structured, plus we can easily buy on the website without having to investigate the company policy for any product, as it is indicated on their website by themselves. Muchas personas que me conocen me preguntan sobre los productos que utilizo para cuidar mi pelo, y en Instagram me han preguntado varias personas sobre los productos de Whamisa, así que he decidido hacer un post sobre los productos capilares de la marca, para responder a ambos temas al mismo tiempo.

Aun así, es una marca que adoro, y sus productos capilares son ahora mismo mis preferidos, por lo que creo que merecen un post en el blog.

Before we begin, I have to say that is very hard to find this brand outside of Korea, and to buy it outside Korea you need to contact them via e-mail. Still, it's a brand that I love, and their hair products are my favorites right now, so I think they deserve a post on the blog.

Empezaré por el "Fermented Seed Shampoo" para pelo graso. Todos los productos huelen como "a campo", a los ingredientes naturales. El champú tiene una consistencia muy líquida, y es poco jabonoso, por lo que al principio pecaba de usar demasiado producto. Limpia en profundidad el pelo, y me está funcionando genial. Antes me lavaba el pelo con champú sólido de Lush, pero ahora sólo lo utilizo dos veces por semana, ya que sino me reseca el cuero cabelludo. Este champú no me lo reseca en absoluto, y puedo utilizarlo todos los días sin problemas. Un 68% de sus ingredientes son orgánicos.

I am going to start with the "Fermented Seed Shampoo" for oily hair. All products smell like "a field", like natural ingredients. The shampoo has a very liquid consistency, and it's not very soapy, so at first I sinned to use too much product. It cleans our hair in depth, and it's working great. El siguiente producto en mi rutina sería el  "Fermented Seed Hair Treatment". Éste contiene un 97% de ingredientes organicos, y se aplica después del champú, se deja actuar, y se retira con agua. Yo lo utilizo a modo de suavizante, y después de aplicarlo soy capaz de desenredarme el pelo sin darme tirones, lo que para mi es todo un logro, puesto que se me enreda con mirarlo.  Al igual que con el anterior producto, al principio usaba más cantidad de la necesaria, pero ya he descubierto que con poco producto consigo el mismo efecto. Es una maravilla.

The next product in my routine would be "Fermented Seed Hair Treatment." It contains 97% organic ingredients, and is applied after shampooing, is allowed to act, and removed with water. I use it as a hair softener, and after applying I can disentangle my hair without pulling it, which to me is quite an achievement, since it entangles very easily. As with the previous product, initially I used more of the necessary, but I've found that with little product I get the same effect. It is wonderful.

Después de lavar el pelo, utilizo el "Fermented Seed Hair Essence". Se aplica sobre el pelo dañado (en mi caso, las puntas), después de ser agitado. No recomiendo utilizarlo en la raíz, puesto que es un producto graso.

El "Fermented Seed Hair Tonic" lo utilizo cuando tengo irritado el cuero cabelludo, y lo calma. Tiene un olor muy agradable. Por suerte, al cambiar mi champú de Lush por el de Whamisa no he tenido demasiados problemas de irritación.
