Haul Maquillalia - Rebajas Enero '14 (Nyx y Mua)

Lo primero que cogí son dos bases de Catrice para mis hermanas, que no estaban rebajadas pero necesitaban "con urgencia". Son los tonos 010 y 020, y tienen un precio de 6'99€ cada una. En casa están gustando mucho.

The first thing I picked up was two Catrice's foundations for my sisters, which were not on sale, but they needed them "urgently". The shades are are 010 and 020, and are priced at 6'99€ each. At home they are enjoying them very much.

Y ahora sí, ¡pasemos a las rebajas! Lo primero fueron dos glosses, uno para mi y otro para mi hermana.
Yo escogí el Mega Shine Lip Gloss en el tono Miami Babe de NYX, que costaba 5'45€, pero estaba a 1'63€. Por desgracia, ya está agotado.
Mi hermana escogió el Intense Kisses en el tono Lips are Sealed, que costaba 2'49€, y lo tienen a 1'49€.
Ambos son muy opacos, y el color que véis en la foto es el color que veréis en los labios. Además, el de Nyx huele a piruleta.

And now, let's talk about the sales! 
The first we got were two glosses, one for me and one for my sister.
I chose the Mega Shine Lip Gloss in the shade Miami Babe by NYX, which costs €5'45, but was €1.63. Unfortunately, it is already sold out.
My sister chose the Intense Kisses in the sade Lips are Sealed, which is €2'49, but was €1'49 on sale.
Both are very opaque, and the color you see in the picture is the color you will see on the lips. In addition, the one by Nyx smells like lollipop.

Aproveché también para hacerme con dos lápices de labios de NYX, uno en el tono 830 Currant, y otro en el 851 Black Berry (sí, me gustan los tonos "goticorros"). Ambos costaban 3'50€ y los tenían rebajados a 1'05€. Por desgracia, también se han agotado, pero os dejo swatches por si queréis comprarlos en otro sitio.

I also took for me two NYX lip pencils, one in the shade 830 Currant and the another in the shade 851 Black Berry (yes, I like "goth lips"). Both were originally €3.50 and were on sale for €1.05. En cuanto a MUA, yo me hice con un mini-esmalte en el tono Deepest Purple, que tiene un subtono algo granate que no pude apreciar en la web de Maquillalia, aunque es muy bonito. Tiene un precio de 1'49€, y se me quedó en 0'89€.

From MUA, I bought a mini nail polish in the shade Deepest Purple, which has a slightly maroon undertone that I could not see on Maquillalia's picture, although it's very nice. It costs €1'49, and I bought it for €0'89.

Mi hermana cogió un delineador de MUA de la gama Luxe en negro. Por lo que parece, es fácil de usar, y negro negrísimo. Tenía un precio de 3'55€, y se le quedó en 2'13€, aunque actualmente está también agotado en la web (como podéis ver, la gente ha arrasado aprovechando el descuento...)

My sister bought a black felt liner by MUA from the Luxe range. Apparently, it is easy to use, and a blackest black. It is priced at €3'55, and she bought it for €2.13, but it is also sold out right now on the web (as you can see, many people took advantage of the discount...)

Yo cogí una brocha tipo mofeta de MUA, ya que hace poco terminé con mi relación de odio hacia la Stippling Brush de Real Techniques dándole un nuevo uso: aplicar la base de maquillaje. Quise hacerme con otra brocha del estilo para cuando tuviese que lavar la de RT, pero son muy diferentes. La de RT es más corta (le llega hasta la mitad del pelo blanco), menos flexible, menos tupida y más ancha, así que veremos qué tal me funciona la de MUA. Tenía un precio de 3'95€ y se me quedó en 2'37€, peeeeero, sí, también está agotada.

I bought a duo-fibre brush by MUA, as I recently broke up with my hate relationship towards the Real Techniques Stippling Brush giving it a new use: apply the foundation. I wanted to have another brush from the same kind for when I had to wash the RT one, but are very different. The RT one is shorter (reaches to the middle of the white hair), less flexible, less dense and wider, so I'll see how the one by MUA works. It costs €3'95 and I bought it for at 2'37€, buuuuut yes, is also sold out.

Por último cogí el trío de labiales Siren de la marca MUA. En invierno necesito untar siempre los labios con una capa protectora, porque el aire frío me los corta muchísimo, y ésta parecía una buena alternativa para diario. En el blog de Beautyshadesuk podéis ver los swatches que me convencieron de mi compra. Cuesta 3'49€, pero lo tienen a 2'09€.

Finally, I bought the lipstick trio in Siren by MUA. In winter I need always to spread on my lips a protective layer of product, because they hurt with the cold wind, and this seemed a good choice for everyday use. In the blog by Beautyshadesuk you can see the swatches that convinced me that my purchase. It costs €3'49, but I bought it for €2.09.

Ésta vez se lucieron con el detalle, y me mandaron una mini talla de la crema de día de Ziaja, que siempre queda mejor que las típicas muestras en bolsa.

This time the sent a great sample, which was a mini size of the day cream by Ziaja, which is always better than the typical bag samples.

The Clone Wars - Naked Basics (Urban Decay)

¡Buenas tardes! ¿Cómo lleváis la semana?
Hoy vengo a traeros un post que creo que os va a gustar bastante, y es el segundo de La Guerra de los Clones. En este caso, "enfrentaré" dos paletas: mi amada Naked Basics de Urban Decay, y la Ever After Matte Palette de Makeup Academy.
La diferencia del packaging es evidente, y sin duda alguna gana Urban Decay en este aspecto.

Good afternoon! How have you been this week?
I come to bring you a post that I think you'll like it a lot, and is the second one about my The Clone Wars series. In this case, I "will face" two palettes: my beloved Urban Decay's Naked Basics, and Makeup Academy's Ever After Matte Palette.
The difference of the packaging is evident, and without any doubt Urban Decay wins in this aspect.

En la parte trasera de la Naked Basics podemos ver que trae un total de 7'8 gramos de producto, frente a los 10 gramos de producto de la paleta de MUA.

At the back of the Naked Basics palette we can see that it has 7'8 total grams of product compared to 10 grams of product on MUA's palette.

En cuanto al grosor son muy similares, aunque la Basics es mucho más compacta y resistente para viajar, y con la de MUA tendremos que tener más cuidado.

In thickness they are very similar, although the Basics is much more compact and resistent for travel, and with the MUA one wi will have to be more careful.

Podemos ver que la paleta de UD contiene 6 sombras, frente a las 10 de Makeup Academy. Ambas se mueven por tonalidades similares, y, como podemos ver, parece que comparten muchos colores.

We can see that the UD palette contains 6 eyeshadows, compared to the 10 of Makeup Academy's. Both have very similar hues, and, as we see, they seem to share many colors.

Una vez swatcheadas es donde realmente podemos hablar de clones o no. La sombra Venus (la primera de la Naked Basics) es satinada, por lo que no la comparé con la de MUA, ya que obviamente no podían ser clones. A la izquierda hice el swatch de UD, y a la derecha coloqué el tono más similar de MUA, y este es el resultado:

Foxy parece idéntica a Butter: dos sombras de un tono amarillo claro que me encanta utilizar para unificar el tono del párpado, puesto que al tener la piel tan clara, no me sirve para iluminar.
Walk Of Shame es similar a Bare, aunque se puede apreciar la diferencia en el swatch.
Naked 2 es muy parecida a Chino, aunque Chino tiene un punto más gris.
Faint es idéntica en tono a Penny.
Crave es un marrón muy oscuro, aunque comparándola con Smoke parece negra, porque esta última es más marrón.

Once swatcheadas is where we can really talk about dupes or not. The Venus eyeshadow (the first one of the Naked Basics) has a satin finish, so it is not comparable to the MUA, as obviously they can't be dupes. On the left side I did the swatch of UD's, and on the right I placed MUA's similar shade, and this is the result:

Foxy seems identical to Butter: two light yellow shades that I love to use to unify the eyelid, as having pale skin, I can't use them to highlight.
Walk Of Shame is similar to Bare, although you can appreciate the difference in the swatch.
Naked 2 is very similar to Chino, but Chino is a bit more greyish.
Faint is identical in tone to Penny.
Crave is a very dark brown, but next to Smoke looks like black, because Smoke is more brown.

Personalmente creo que es una magnífica alternativa para todas aquellas que no puedan (o no quieran) permitirse la paleta de Urban Decay. Obviamente, la calidad de las sombras no es la misma: las de UD son más pigmentadas y sedosas, mientras que las de MUA son algo más tizosas y he tenido que insistir algo más para que el color fuese igual de vibrante. También es verdad que con la paleta de MUA tenéis una mayor variedad, y yo creo que si no tenéis la Basics y queréis una paleta de sombras mate del tipo de la de UD, deberíais haceros con esta, ya que por el precio que tiene, merece muchísimo la pena.
Como sabéis, la Naked Basics podéis conseguirla en Sephora por 25€, y la Ever After en la web de Maquillalia por 4'99€.

Os dejo un resumen de qué paleta creo que gana en cada aspecto, para que decidáis cuál de las dos preferís:

Personally I think it's a great alternative for those who can not (or don't want to) afford the Urban Decay palette. Obviously, the quality of the eyeshadows is not the same: the UD ones are more pigmented and silky, while the MUA ones are more chalky and I had to insist a bit more with the swatches to get a color as vibrant as "the original". It is also true that with the MUA palette you will have more variety, and I think if you do not have the Basics and you want a matte eyeshadow palette similar to the UD one, you should purchase this one, because for the price it has, it is really worth it.

As you know, you can get the Naked Basics at Sephora for 25€, and the Ever After in Maquillalia's website for 4'99€.

Haul Maquillalia - Septiembre '13

¡Comienza la semana!
Hoy traigo mi último Haul a a Maquillalia. Mi hermana quiso aprovechar el 50% que tienen en NYX, y yo me uní a ella pidiendo algunas cosillas por las que tenía curiosidad.
Mi cámara se ha estropeado, así que he usado la de mi hermana para hacer las fotos, y pido disculpas si los colores se ven un poco raros, pero todavía no me he hecho a ella.

Today I will show you my last Maquillalia's Haul. My sister wanted to take advantage of the 50% off on NYX products, and I joined her buying some things for which I was curious.

Mi madre también se pidió un par, por eso en la foto veis que hay uno repetido, porque nos gustó a las dos y nos hicimos ambas con él.

My primary acquisition from this haul were the Fashionista's brand blushers. I had an overwhelming desire to try the brand, and for €1.75 a blush, I could not resist. My mother ordered a pair, so in the picture you see that there is one repeated because we liked them both and we did both buy them.

Aquí tenéis los swatches de los coloretes. Como veis, la pigmentación es increíble. Los coloretes de la marca me han sorprendido para bien, y la verdad es que para usar a diario me parecen una compra fantástica.

Pedí una sombra de MUA de la gama Mate, perfecta para unificar el tono del párpado. Es la número 16, y tiene un precio de 1'49€.

La primera compra de mi hermana fue el colorete Amber, y en parte me arrepiento de no haberlo pedido, puesto que es un tono precioso. Como lo están descatalogando lo tienen ahora mismo a 2'98€.

Como no tenía ningún colorete (mas que uno rojo de Essence), aprovechó también para comprar éste tono melocotón de MUA, el número 04, que tiene un precio de 1'49€.

En mi Haul a Maquillalia de Abril os enseñé mi Face Form de Sleek en el tono Fair. A mi hermana le gustó muchísimo la idea de tener tres productos "básicos" en una misma paleta, así que decidió cogerla en el tono Light. El bronceador y el iluminador son prácticamente iguales, sin embargo el colorete es más rosado en Light, y más anaranjado en Fair. Tiene un precio de 12'95€.

In my April's Haul to Maquillalia I showed my Face Form from Sleek in Fair. My sister really liked the idea of having three different and basic products in the same palette, so she decided to buy it in Light. The bronzer and the highlighter are virtually identical, but the blush is more pinkish in Light, and more peachy in Fair. It costs €12'95.

También compró un esmalte color chocolate de NYX, de acabado mate, que se vende ahora mismo a un precio de 1'98€.

She also bought a NYX chocolate nail polish, with a matte finish, sold now at a price of 1.98€.

Es el tono Coffee, precioso para Otoño, y necesita al menos un par de capas para cubrir completamente la uña (cuatro capas si las hacemos muy muy finas).

It's name is Coffee, and it looks so lovely for Autumn, and needs at least a couple of coats to completely cover the nail (four layers if we do very thin layer).

En cuanto a productos para labios, se hizo con tres de la marca. El primero fue el labial Alabama de NYX, de acabado mate. Tiene un precio de 2'98€, pero está ya agotado.

El que más le sorprendió fue el Soft Matte Lip Cream, ya que no sabíamos qué tal funcionaría este tipo de producto, y le ha gustado muchísimo, porque dice que le deja los labios mate, suaves y aterciopelados. Lo podíais conseguir también en Maquillalia por 2'98€, aunque también se ha agotado.

The product which surprised her the most was the Soft Matte Lip Cream, as we did not know how this type of product would work, and she really liked it, because she says that leaves the lips matte, smooth and velvety. You could also get Maquillalia for €2.98, but it has also been discontinued now.

También adquirió un lápiz de labios rojizo, para facilitarse la aplicación de los labiales rojos. Lo podéis conseguir por 1'75€ que, para la calidad que tienen los lápices de labios de NYX, es una ganga.

She also acquired a red lipliner pencil, to facilitate the application of red lipsticks. You can get it for 1.75€ that to the quality they have, is a bargain.

Por último, adquirió un lápiz retráctil de Nyx en el tono 01 White. Lo tenéis por 2'25€ en Maquillalia.

Favoritos - Junio '13

Hoy os traigo mis favoritos de Julio. He estado usando mucho algunos productos que tenía abandonadillos, y otros nuevos, ¡espero que os gusten!

Today I bring you my June's favorite products. I've been using a lot some products that I forgot using for quite a while, and some new products, I hope you like them!

La Glamour Sponge ha sido mi herramienta preferida para aplicar el maquillaje durante el mes de Junio. Tengo pendiente hacer un review completo de la misma, pero me gusta muchísimo como aplica el producto. La forma es similar a la Thin Sponge de Skin79, solo que ésta aumenta su tamaño al ser humedecida. Cuando tengo muchas prisas suelo recurrir a la Thin Sponge, ya que resulta mucho más sencilla de limpiar, pero cuando puedo permitirme un poquillo más de tiempo, uso la Glamour Sponge. Además, al humedecerla resulta muy agradable en el rostro en éstos días de calor. 

The Glamour Sponge has been my favorite tool for applying makeup during the month of June. I have to do a full review on it yet, but I really like how it applies the product. The shape is similar to the Thin Sponge by Skin79, very ergonomic, but this one increases its size when wet, while the Thin Sponge doesn't. When I'm a big hurry I use the Thin Sponge instead, since it is much faster to clean, but when I can afford a little bit more time, I use the Glamour Sponge. Moreover, it feels very nice when moisten on the face in these hot days.

Mi piel ha estado muy rebelde últimamente. Me han salido bastantes granitos, supongo que en parte a que he estado descuidando mi alimentación. El Aceite de Árbol de Té ha sido mi gran aliado para secar los granitos más rápidamente, y he tenido que aplicarlo prácticamente día sí y día también.

My skin has been very rebellious lately. I have many pimples, I guess in part because I've been neglecting my diet. The Tea Tree Oil has been my great ally to dry pimples quite faster, and I had to practically apply it day in and day out.

Mi labial preferido y al que más he recurrido es el Dolce Vita de NARS. Deja un acabado muy natural en mis labios, y me resulta cómodo de llevar. En ésta última semana he recurrido diariamente a otro de MUA, pero al no haberlo usado durante todo el mes, sería un poco trampa, aunque estoy segura de que saldrá en mis favoritos del próximo mes.
Para mi, es el labial perfecto para diario, y si os gustan los labios con un look natural, tenéis que probar éste.

My favorite lipstick and the one that I've been reaching the most is NARS Dolce Vita. It leaves a very natural finish on my lips, and I find it comfortable to wear. On this day last week I turned to another one by MUA, but I have not used it throughout the month, so I would be cheating if I showed it here, but I'm sure it will come in next month's favorites.
To me, it's the perfect lipstick for everyday, and if you like the lips with a natural look, you need to try it.

Este mes no he usado demasiado a los iluminadores, a decir verdad, pero siempre que lo he hecho ha sido a éste de Skin79 del que os hablé con anterioridad. Es una preciosidad, y queda muy bonito en pieles pálidas, ya que no tira a amarillento, dorado o rosa, como hacen gran parte de los iluminadores del mercado.

This month I have not used highlighters too much, actually, but whenever I have applied one, it was this one from Skin79, of which I spoke earlier. It's gorgeous, and looks nice on pale skin because it does not throw a yellow, gold or pink, as do many of the highlighters that we can find in the market.

En cuanto a coloretes, he recurrido muchísimo a éste colorete en crema de MUA, en el tono Bittersweet. Aguanta bastante bien en la piel, y deja un tono muy saludable. Como veis, es muy rosa, aunque también he estado utilizando otro tono que me llegó hace poquito y es más "natural" para pieles con subtonos más amarillentos. Por el precio que tienen, me parecen geniales.

As for blush, I have reached a lot to this cream blush by the UK brand MUA in the shade Bittersweet. It lasts well on the skin, and makes me look very healthy. As you can see, it is very pink, although I have also been using another shade that I recently got which is a bit more "natural" for skin with more yellow undertones. For the price they have, they are great.

Mi sombra para iluminar más usada durante Junio ha sido la 168 de Kiko, un blanco perlado muy bonito que queda genial en el lagrimal para abrir la mirada. La tenía muy abandonada, por lo que la depoté y la pasé a mi paleta de Neve Cosmetics para tenerla más a mano, al igual que he ido haciendo con otras de mis sombras de Kiko. Al tenerlas depotadas todas en una misma paleta, me resulta mucho más cómodo utilizarlas.

My most used highlighting eyeshadow during June was the 168 from Kiko, a very nice pearly white that looks great on the tear to open the eyes. I had it quite abandoned, so I depoted it and put it on my Neve Cosmetics palette to have it at hand, as I've been doing with my other Kiko eyeshadows. Having them depoted all in one palette, I find it much more comfortable to use them.

Pero sin duda, la sombra que más he utilizado durante el mes es la 410 de CATRICE. Me encanta ésta sombra, y he estado completamente obsesionada con ella. Tiene un tono muy especial, y os recomendaría añadirla a vuestra colección si todavía no la tenéis.

But undoubtedly my most I used eyeshadow during the month was the CATRICE 410. I love this shade, and I've been completely obsessed with it. It has a very special color, and I recommend adding it to your collection if you haven't yet.

Como base, mi preferida sigue siendo la BB Cream Vital Orange de Skin79, pero como he estado probando distintos productos durante el mes, y no la he usado mas que un par de veces, no podía incluirla en los favoritos de Junio. Otro producto que faltaría sería mi amada Naked Basics, a la que he vuelto a recurrir casi a diario, pero no quería repetirme demasiado, y por eso no la incluí en los favoritos del mes.

As a foundation, my favorite is still the Vital Orange BB Cream by Skin79, but as I've been trying different products over the month, and I have not used it more than a few times, so I could not include it in the list of June. Another product that should be here is be my beloved Naked Basics, which I use almost daily, but I did not want to repeat myself too much, and so did not include it in this month's favorites.
