The Clone Wars | Naked 2 (Urban Decay)

¡¡Os traigo un nuevo post para La Guerra de los Clones!! Esta vez os comparo la Naked 2 de Urban Decay con la paleta In The Buff de W7, a la venta en El Outlet del Maquillaje. A primera vista, el parecido es claro, pero vamos a ver si realmente son clones o no. El precio de la paleta de Urban Decay ronda los 48€, mientras que la de W7 no llega a los 8€...

The Clone Wars are back!! 
This time I will be comparing the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette with W7's In The Buff palette, on sale at El Outlet del Maquillaje. At first glance, the resemblance is evident, but we'll see if they really are dupes or not. The price of Urban Decay's palette is around €48, while the W7's one is less than €8...

En cuanto a grosor, la de W7 (abajo) es un pelín más gruesa, y mucho más ligera, aunque en este caso, me gusta más el peso de la paleta original.

As for the thickness, the one by W7 (below) is a tad thicker and much lighter, although in this case, I like the weight of the original palette better.

Cuando las abrimos, podemos observar que claramente se trata de un clon de la Naked 2: los tonos son prácticamente iguales, incluso tienen la misma disposición dentro de la paleta. En el caso de la de Urban Decay, la paleta viene con una brocha doble, mientras que en uno de los lados de la de W7, lo que viene es una esponja.

When we open the palettes, we can see that it clearly is a dupe of the Naked 2 palette: the shades appear to be virtually identical, and they even have the same positions in the palettes. In the case of Urban Decay, the palette comes with a double brush, while in W7, one of the sides of the double brush is a sponge.

Ahora vamos con los swatches. A la izquierda tenéis la sombra de UD, y a la derecha la de W7. Vamos a comparar: 

FOXY vs. BUFF - Iguales. 

HALF BAKED vs. CAMEL - Camel es notablemente más oscura.

BOOTYCALL vs. SAND - Casi iguales. Sand pigmenta menos, y tiene algunos microdestellos.

CHOPPER - DUST - Diferentes. Chopper es más clara, más anaranjada y mucho más brillante.

Now lets start with the swatches. On the left we have the eyeshadows by UD, and on the right the ones by W7. Let's compare:

FOXY vs. BUFF - Same.

HALF BAKED vs. CAMEL - Camel is noticeably darker.

BOOTYCALL vs. SAND - Almost dupes. Sand is less pigmented, and has some small glimmer.

CHOPPER vs. DUST - Different. Chopper is lighter, more orange, and brighter .

TEASE vs. CHOCOLATE - Prácticamente clones.

SNAKEBITE vs. TOPAZ - Topaz es un pelín más clara, y más dorada.

SUSPECT vs. EARTH - Earth tiene una base más dorada, mientras que Suspect a su lado se ve más grisácea.

PISTOL vs. STORM - Son prácticamente idénticas.

On the left you have the eyeshadow by UD, and on the right, W7.

TEASE vs. CHOCOLATE - Practically dupes.

SNAKEBITE vs. TOPAZ - Topaz is a tad lighter and more golden.

SUSPECT vs. EARTH - Earth has a golden undertone, while Suspect beside it looks grayer.

PISTOL vs. STORM - They are virtually identical.

A la izquierda tenéis la sombra de UD, y a la derecha la de W7. 

VERVE vs. SILK - No tienen nada que ver. Verve es mucho más brillante, muy metalizada, y tiene reflejo blanco. Silk es prácticamente mate, y más gris.

YDK vs. WAVE - No tienen nada que ver. Wave es un cobrizo de acabado mate con algo de destello, e YDK es una sombra súper metalizada, y mucho más rosada que Wave. Es de mis sombras preferidas que la Naked 2, así que es un fallo muy grade que sean tan diferentes.

BUSTED vs. THUNDER - Thunder pigmenta más, aunque también es algo más polvorienta.

BLACKOUT vs. ONYZ - En este caso me quedo con la de W7, que pigmenta mucho mejor, y el tono es algo diferente y más bonito.

On the left you have the eyeshadow by UD, and on the right, W7.

VERVE vs. SILK - They are quite different. Verve is much brighter, very metallic, and has a white reflection. Silk is almost matt, and grayer.

YDK vs. WAVE - They are completely different. Wave is a coppery shade with a matte finish and some shimmer, and YDK is a super metallic shade, and pinker than Wave. It is my favorite shade in the Naked 2, so is a downside for me that they look that different. 

BUSTED vs. THUNDER - Thunder is more pigmented, but is also somewhat chalky.

BLACKOUT vs. ONYZ - In this case I prefer the eyeshadow by W7, which has a better pigmentation, and the shade is browner (a black-brown?) and nicer.

Conclusión: Está claro que la calidad se paga, y las sombras de Urban Decay son una pasada. También he de decir que la Naked 2 es una de las paletas a las que menos uso le doy, por lo que, si pudiese volver atrás, probablemente me quedaría con la de W7 y me ahorraría 40€... la diferencia básica está en que las sombras no tienen una calidad tan excelente como Urban Decay, pero con una buena prebase, por menos de 8€ que cuesta la paleta, me basta y me sobra. El único punto realmente negativo que le veo a la de W7 es que no tenga una sombra como la YDK, ya que es de mis sombras preferidas de la paleta.
Si sois como yo y no sabéis si vais a usar tanto la paleta como para amortizar los casi 50€, o directamente, no os podéis permitir la de UD, la de W7 es una buena opción.

Conclusion: We know that with some brands you pay for quality products, and Urban Decay's eyeshadows are amazing. I must also say that the Naked 2 is one of the palettes that I don't really use that much, so, if I could go back, I would probably go with the one by W7 and I would save €40... the basic difference is that the eyeshadows are not as high quality as the ones by Urban Decay, but with a good primer, for less than €8 the palette, I find it a good deal. The only real downside I see in the one by W7 that it doesn't have an eyeshadow like YDK, as it is one of my favorite shades in the palette.
If you are like me and you do not know if you are going to use the palette as much to amortize the nearly €50, or directly, you can't afford the one by UD, the W7 palette is a good choice.

The Clone Wars - Brulé (Mac)

¡Hoy toca otra Guerra de los Clones! En este caso, entre una sombra de Mac, y una de Wet n' Wild, ambas con nombres casi idénticos: Brulé/Brulee. He visto mucho este clon por internet, así que hoy os dejo en el post la comparativa para que decidáis vosotras mismas si son clones o no. ¡Empecemos!

Today we have another Clone Wars post! In this case, I'll be comparing an eyeshadow by Mac, with another by Wet n 'Wild, both with almost identical names: Brulé/Brulee. I've seen this as a dupe online a lot of times, so today I show you a comparative so you can decide yourselves if they are good dupes or not. Let's begin!

Empecemos por ver precios y cantidades.
A la izquierda tenemos la sombra Brulee de Wet n' Wild, con 1'7gr., y un precio entre 1'99-2'49€, según donde la compréis.
A la derecha, está la sombra Brulé de Mac, que además de contener menos cantidad, es bastante más cara: 1'5gr. por 14-17'50€.

Let's start comparing prices and quantities. 
On the left we have the Brulee eyeshadow by Wet n 'Wild, with 1'7g., And priced between 1.99-2.49€, depending on where the buy it. 
On the right is the eyeshadow by Mac, Brulé, which contain less quantity, and is far more expensive: 1'5g. for 14-17'50€.

Como podéis ver, en el godet las diferencias son prácticamente inapreciables (aparte del hecho obvio de que una es rectangular, y la otra redonda).

As you can see, in the pan there are practicaly no differences (apart from the obvious fact that one is rectangular, and the other is rounded).

Aquí podéis ver los swatches de ambas. Las dos son sombras bastante suaves, fáciles de trabajar, y perfectas, en la mayoría de los casos, para iluminar. Yo, como soy muy blanca, las uso para unificar el tono del párpado, y considero este tipo de sombra un básico que toda amante del maquillaje debería tener.

Here you can see swatches of both of them. Both are quite smooth, easy to blend, and perfect, in most cases, to highlight. I am quite pale, so I use this type of shade to unify the tone of the eyelid, and I consider this color such a basic shade that every makeup lover should have.

En la piel son extremadamente similares (las diferencias en el ojo son inapreciables). Personalmente, la de Wet n' Wild la veo un pelín menos luminosa, ya que, además de ser un puntito menos clara, la sombra de Mac tiene un acabado satinado, mientras que la de Wet' n Wild la encuentro más mate.

On the skin they look extremely similar (when you have them on your lids you can't really see the differences). Personally, I see the one by Wet n 'Wild is a tad less brighter because, besides being a bit darker, the Mac eyeshadow has a satin finish, while the Wet' n Wild one is matte.

Conclusión: ¿Merece la pena pagar la de Mac por esa diferencia? En mi opinión, no. Mac puede que tenga sombras especiales que "merezcan la pena", pero en este caso me quedo con la de Wet n' Wild, tanto por precio, como por el hecho importantísimo de que Wn'W no testa en animales, mientras que Mac sí lo hace.
¿Qué decís vosotras, clones, o no?

Conclusion: Is it worth paying the difference for the Mac eyeshadow? In my opinion, no. Mac may have some special shadows "worthwhile", but in this case I prefer the Wet n 'Wild one, therefore price, and because the important fact that Wn'W does not test on animals, while Mac is not cruelty-free.

The Clone Wars - Naked 3 (Urban Decay)

Os traigo un nuevo post de La Guerra de los Clones, con una comparativa entre la Iconic 3 de la nueva marca Makeup Revolution, y la famosa Naked 3 de Urban Decay (mi paleta preferida actualmente).

I bring you a new post from The Clone Wars, with a comparison between the Iconic 3 from the new brand Makeup Revolution, and the famous Naked 3 by Urban Decay (my favorite palette currently).

A primera vista podemos ver que las sombras parecen clones exactos. La paleta de MUR tiene 14 gramos de producto y viene con un aplicador de esponja, mientras que la de UD tiene 15'6 gramos y viene con su brocha doble. La diferencia de precio es notable: unos 47€ la de UD, y 5€ la de MUR. ¿Queréis ver si son realmente clones, o merece la pena la diferencia de precio? ¡Pues vamos a ir viéndolo sombra a sombra!

At first glance we can see that the eyeshadows seem exact dupes. The MUR palette has 14 grams of product and comes with a sponge applicator, while UD is 15'6 grams and comes with a duo brush. The price difference is huge: about 47€ the UD one, and 5€ for the one by UD. Do you want to see if they are actually dupes, and worth the price difference? Well, let's see it shade by shade!

La primera sombra es Strange. La de UD es más pigmentada, la textura es más suave, y es algo más blanquecina/rosada que la de MUR.

The first shade is Strange. The one by UD is more pigmented, the texture is softer, and is more pinkish than MUR.

Dust es la peor sombra de la Naked 3, y, en este caso, ambas son muy polvorientas. Dust es más anaranjada, y pigmenta mejor.

Dust is the worst eyeshadow from the Naked 3 and, in this case, both are very chalky. Dust is more orange, and has better pigmentation.

En el caso de Burnout la diferencia creo que es clara: pigmenta muchísimo más que la de MUR, tanto que parecen tonos completamente distintos.

For Burnout I think that the difference is evident: it is much more pigmented than the one by MUR, which makes them seem different shades.

En el caso de Limit, el tono es el mismo, pero Limit pigmenta mejor, y la de MUR es algo satinada.

On Limit, the color is the same, but Limit has better pigmentation, and the one by MUR has a satin finish.

En el caso de Buzz, la de MUR es más polvorienta, pero son iguales.

For Buzz, the one by MUR is more chalky, but they look the same.

Trick es más rosada y brillante que la de MUR, que es algo más anaranjada, aunque son similares.

Trick is pinker and brighter than MUR, which is more orange, although they look similar.

En el caso de Nooner, la de MUR es un pelín más oscura, pero son súper parecidas. Ambas pigmentan muy bien.

For Nooner, the one by MUR is a tad darker, but are extremely similar. Both are very well pigmented.

Liar tiene mucha mejor pigmentación que la de MUR, pero el tono es el mismo.

The pigmentation on Liar is much better, but the shade is the same.

En el caso de Factory, como podéis ver, son dos sombras completa y absolutamente distintas.

For Factory, as you can see, they are two completely and totally different shades.

Mugshot es prácticamente igual que la sombra de MUR, aunque la de MUR tiene un puntillo más anaranjado, que en directo apenas es apreciable. Ambas sombras son geniales, de mis preferidas de ambas paletas.

Mugshot is almost the same from the one by MUR, although the one by MUR has is a bit orangey, which is barely noticeable in person. Both shades are great and some of my favorites from both palettes.

En el caso de Darkside, los tonos también son completamente distintos, aunque ambos me parecen preciosos y se complementan muy bien. La de MUR vendría a ser una prima oscura de Darkside.

For Darkside, the shades are also completely different, although both are beautiful and complement each other nicely. The one by MUR would be a dark cousin for Darkside.

Blackheart y la sombra de MUR son casi iguales, salvo que la de MUR tiene una base más rojiza y más destellos, lo que hace que, para mi, en este caso "gane" la de MUR.

Blackheart and the eyeshadow by MUR are almost identical, except that the one by MUR has a reddish base and more sparkles, so in this case the one by MUR "wins".

Como veis, algunos tonos sí se parecen, pero otros no, pero considero que es una buena alternativa para las personas que no puedan (o no quieran) gastarse en dinero en la paleta de Urban Decay, aunque, como se puede ver, en este caso, considero que la calidad se paga. ¿Cómo decidirnos entre ambas paletas? Para mi, la Naked 3, es, como ya he dicho, mi paleta preferida actualmente, y si creéis que son tonos que os van a gustar, y podéis permitíroslo, os recomendaría la de UD. La de MUR me parece una versión low-cost perfecta para aquellas personas que piensen que no le van a sacar tanto partido, pero les apetezca probar ese tipo de tonos, o simplemente no puedan permitirse la de UD, ya que la gama de colores es muy del estilo.
Un punto muy negativo que le veo a las sombras de MUR es que se estropean si pasamos el dedo, lo cual jamás me ha pasado ni con sombras más baratas.
Aunque la Iconic 3 no sea un clon 100% exacto, por 5€ considero que está muy bien, aunque odio no poder pasarles el dedo...

Os dejo un resumen de qué paleta creo que gana en cada aspecto:

As you see, some shades are very similar, and others are not at all, but I consider it a good alternative for people who can not (or don't want to) spend their money on the Urban Decay palette, though, as you can see, in this case, I believe that you pay for the quality. How to decide between both palettes? For me, the Naked 3 is, as I said before, my current favorite palette, and if you think that you will like this shades, and you can afford it, I recommend you the one by UD. The one by MUR seems like a perfect low-cost version for those who think that they are not going to use it that much, but they desire to try this kind of shades, or simply can not afford the one by UD, because they are quite similar.
A very negative point I see in the shadows by MUR is that if we swatch them with our finger they get spoiled, which I have never seen even in cheaper eyeshadows. 
Althought the Iconic 3 is not a complete dupe, for 5€ I think that it is great, but I hate not being able to swatch them with my fingers...

Hoy os traigo de nuevo un post sobre clones, en concreto sobre una de las sombras que más está gustando de la Naked 3 de Urban Decay. El clon de la misma es una sombra individual de Catrice, por lo que si no os gusta especialmente la Naked 3, pero os gusta muchísimo esa sombra, podéis haceros con ella por separado a un precio mucho más bajo.

Today I bring you another dupes post, specifically on one of the most loved eyeshadows from the Naked 3 by Urban Decay. 
The dupe of it is a single eyeshadow from the brand Catrice, so if you do not especially like the Naked 3, but you really like this shade, you can add it to your collection separately at a much lower price.

La sombra de Urban Decay de la que os hablo es Mugshot, la cuál ha sido definida por My Eyeshadow Consultant como "una Satin Taupe con un punto rojizo que la hace más especial."
Su clon, a la izquierda, sería la famosa 400 My First Copperware Party de Catrice.

The Urban Decay eyeshadow that I'm talking about is Mugshot, which has been defined by My Eyeshadow Consultant as a "Satin Taupe with a tinge more red mixed into it that makes it more unique." 
Your clone to the left would be the famous 400 My First Copperware  Party by Catrice.

Aquí podéis ver las sombras swatcheadas la una junto a la otra. Si me pongo quisquillosa, la de Urban Decay es un pelín más oscura, aunque, como podéis ver, creo que es un clon bastante fiel. ¿Qué pensáis vosotras?

If I get picky, the Urban Decay one is a tad darker, but, as you can see, I think it's a pretty faithful dupe. What do you think?

Realmente, el precio por sombra es prácticamente el mismo, ya que si dividimos el precio de la Naked 3 entre el número de sombras, nos sale a 3'87€/sombra (aunque también cada sombra lleva 0'7 gramos menos que las individuales de Catrice). En cuanto a calidad, aunque me encantan las sombras de Catrice, gana Urban Decay.
Si no me equivoco, el precio de cada sombra de UD por separado es de 17€, así que si os gustan más de 3 sombras de la Naked 3, ya merece la pena comprar la paleta.

Actually, the shadow price is almost the same, because if we divide the price by the number of eyeshadows that we find in the Naked 3, we get a price of 3.87€/eyeshadow (although every shadow has 0.7 grams less than the individual ones from Catrice). In terms of quality, although I love Catrice eyeshadows, Urban Decay wins. 
If I'm not mistaken, the price of each UD eyeshadow separately is 17€, so if you like more than 3 shades on the Naked 3, it's worth buying the palette.

The Clone Wars - Naked Basics (Urban Decay)

¡Buenas tardes! ¿Cómo lleváis la semana?
Hoy vengo a traeros un post que creo que os va a gustar bastante, y es el segundo de La Guerra de los Clones. En este caso, "enfrentaré" dos paletas: mi amada Naked Basics de Urban Decay, y la Ever After Matte Palette de Makeup Academy.
La diferencia del packaging es evidente, y sin duda alguna gana Urban Decay en este aspecto.

Good afternoon! How have you been this week?
I come to bring you a post that I think you'll like it a lot, and is the second one about my The Clone Wars series. In this case, I "will face" two palettes: my beloved Urban Decay's Naked Basics, and Makeup Academy's Ever After Matte Palette.
The difference of the packaging is evident, and without any doubt Urban Decay wins in this aspect.

En la parte trasera de la Naked Basics podemos ver que trae un total de 7'8 gramos de producto, frente a los 10 gramos de producto de la paleta de MUA.

At the back of the Naked Basics palette we can see that it has 7'8 total grams of product compared to 10 grams of product on MUA's palette.

En cuanto al grosor son muy similares, aunque la Basics es mucho más compacta y resistente para viajar, y con la de MUA tendremos que tener más cuidado.

In thickness they are very similar, although the Basics is much more compact and resistent for travel, and with the MUA one wi will have to be more careful.

Podemos ver que la paleta de UD contiene 6 sombras, frente a las 10 de Makeup Academy. Ambas se mueven por tonalidades similares, y, como podemos ver, parece que comparten muchos colores.

We can see that the UD palette contains 6 eyeshadows, compared to the 10 of Makeup Academy's. Both have very similar hues, and, as we see, they seem to share many colors.

Una vez swatcheadas es donde realmente podemos hablar de clones o no. La sombra Venus (la primera de la Naked Basics) es satinada, por lo que no la comparé con la de MUA, ya que obviamente no podían ser clones. A la izquierda hice el swatch de UD, y a la derecha coloqué el tono más similar de MUA, y este es el resultado:

Foxy parece idéntica a Butter: dos sombras de un tono amarillo claro que me encanta utilizar para unificar el tono del párpado, puesto que al tener la piel tan clara, no me sirve para iluminar.
Walk Of Shame es similar a Bare, aunque se puede apreciar la diferencia en el swatch.
Naked 2 es muy parecida a Chino, aunque Chino tiene un punto más gris.
Faint es idéntica en tono a Penny.
Crave es un marrón muy oscuro, aunque comparándola con Smoke parece negra, porque esta última es más marrón.

Once swatcheadas is where we can really talk about dupes or not. The Venus eyeshadow (the first one of the Naked Basics) has a satin finish, so it is not comparable to the MUA, as obviously they can't be dupes. On the left side I did the swatch of UD's, and on the right I placed MUA's similar shade, and this is the result:

Foxy seems identical to Butter: two light yellow shades that I love to use to unify the eyelid, as having pale skin, I can't use them to highlight.
Walk Of Shame is similar to Bare, although you can appreciate the difference in the swatch.
Naked 2 is very similar to Chino, but Chino is a bit more greyish.
Faint is identical in tone to Penny.
Crave is a very dark brown, but next to Smoke looks like black, because Smoke is more brown.

Personalmente creo que es una magnífica alternativa para todas aquellas que no puedan (o no quieran) permitirse la paleta de Urban Decay. Obviamente, la calidad de las sombras no es la misma: las de UD son más pigmentadas y sedosas, mientras que las de MUA son algo más tizosas y he tenido que insistir algo más para que el color fuese igual de vibrante. También es verdad que con la paleta de MUA tenéis una mayor variedad, y yo creo que si no tenéis la Basics y queréis una paleta de sombras mate del tipo de la de UD, deberíais haceros con esta, ya que por el precio que tiene, merece muchísimo la pena.

Personally I think it's a great alternative for those who can not (or don't want to) afford the Urban Decay palette. Obviously, the quality of the eyeshadows is not the same: the UD ones are more pigmented and silky, while the MUA ones are more chalky and I had to insist a bit more with the swatches to get a color as vibrant as "the original". It is also true that with the MUA palette you will have more variety, and I think if you do not have the Basics and you want a matte eyeshadow palette similar to the UD one, you should purchase this one, because for the price it has, it is really worth it.

As you know, you can get the Naked Basics at Sephora for 25€, and the Ever After in Maquillalia's website for 4'99€.
