The Balm - Cindy Lou Manizer

Hoy os traigo el review sobre uno de los últimos lanzamientos de The Balm: el Cindy-Lou Manizer.

Today I bring you a review on one of the latest releases by The Balm: Cindy-Lou Manizer.

Como podéis ver, el packaging es del mismo tipo que sus "primos", el Mary-Lou Manizer y el Betty-Lou Manizer (review aquí), y trae la misma cantidad: 8'5 gramos de producto.

As you can see, the packaging looks the same as the Mary-Lou Manizer and Betty-Lou Manizer (review here), and has the same amount: 8.5 grams of product.

Se trata de un iluminador que recuerda mucho al Mary-Lou de la misma marca, sólo que en un tono distinto: el tono del Cindy-Lou es un rosado melocotón.

It is a highlighter very similar to the Mary-Lou by the same brand, just in a different shade: the shade of the Cindy-Lou is a pinky peach.

Como podéis ver, el Mary-Lou es mucho más dorado. Además, el envase ha cambiado ligeramente: podéis ver que el godet ahora no está "hundido",  el espejo es más grande, y, aunque no sea visible en la foto, ahora es más fino.

As you can see, the Mary-Lou is much more yellow. In addition, the packaging has changed slightly: you can see that the godet now is not "sunk", the mirror is larger, and, although it is not visible in the photo, is now thinner.

Aquí podéis ver los tonos de ambos. Los dos son productos muy pigmentados, pero el Cindy-Lou resulta más polvoriento.

Here you can see the shades of both of them. The two products are very pigmented, but the Cindy-Lou is more dusty.

La diferencia es evidente. El Cindy-Lou puede utilizarse como colorete en pieles claras, pero he de advertir que remarca mucho los poros (como cualquier producto "iluminador" en esa zona).
Para mi, como mejor funciona el Cindy-Lou en pieles claras es aplicado sobre otros coloretes, para darles un halo de luz.

The difference is obvious. The Cindy-Lou can be used as blush on fair skin, but I must warn that it remarks the pores so much (as any "highlighting" product in that area). 

For me, the better way to use the Cindy-Lou on fair skin is applied over other blushes to give them a halo of light.

Semana Amiga de Shiseido (Junio '13)

¡Feliz martes, chicas!
Traigo un post-exprés de un haul muy especial: se trata de mi mini-haul (con mi hermana) de la Semana Amiga de Shiseido. Para las que no lo sepáis, durante la semana amiga, en el Edificio Oficor (Madrid) tienen muchísimos productos de diversas marcas de Sisheido al 38%. Yo no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad, aunque me quedé con media wishlist por el camino... No tenían nada de la Colección de Pierre Hardy, ni uno de los labiales que buscaba. Además, las cosas se agotan bastante rápido, y a tan sólo una hora de la apertura, se quedaron sin el colorete Dolce Vita. Aun así, conseguí hacerme con tres de las cositas que quería, y mi hermana con una con la que no contaba.

I bring you today a very special haul express post: it is my mini-haul (with my sister) of the Shiseido's Friend Week. For those who do not know, during the "Semana Amiga", in the Oficor building (Madrid) they have many products of various brands from Sisheido with a 38% of discount. I could not pass up the opportunity, but sadly some of the items from my wishlist weren't there... They had nothing from the new Nars' Pierre Hardy's collection, and one of the lipsticks I wanted. Also, things get sold out pretty fast, and only an hour from the opening, the Dolce Vita's blush was sold out. Even so, I got my hands on three of the little things I wanted, and my sister bought one that she didn't know about.

Tengo entendido que si no tenéis invitación podéis pedirla allí mismo. Yo, por si acaso, os dejo unos links al final del post para las que queráis acudir. Como veis, no nos hemos llevado "demasiadas cosas", pero todas son una pasada de bonitas.

Mi hermana se pilló el famosísimo iluminador Copacabana. Dudó entre ese y el Orgasm, pero cuando le enseñé cómo le quedaba el Copacabana no dudó. Os haré review de todos los productos más adelante, pero os dejo fotitos del haul para ir abriendo boca...

My sister bought the famous Copacabana Illuminator. She hesitated between that one and the Orgasm, but when I showed her how she looked with the Copacabana, she didn't hesitate more. I will review all the products later, so I will just show you now pictures of the items we got.

Yo piqué con dos coloretes: el primero ha sido el Seduction. Es un colorete del que no oigo demasiado hablar por los blogs (quizá sea porque en la web aparece como "nuevo"), y a mi me parece una auténtica preciosidad. En la web lo definen como un color sangría, y tiene un brillito sutil.

I fall with two blushers: the first one was the Seduction. It is a blush which I haven't heard too much about it on the blogs (maybe it's because on the website it's listed as "new"), and to me it looks like a real beauty. On the website, they define it as a sangria color, and has a subtle sheen.

También me hice con el colorete Amour. Lo definen como un rosa-melocotón. Me parece un color ideal para pieles blanquitas como la mía, y lo tenía desde hace tiempo en mi Wishlist. Dudaba entre ese y el Torrid, pero como también tengo el Orgasm, me he decantado por el Amour que es mate y recuerda menos (al menos a mi).

I also got the blush Amour. It is defined as a peachy pink. It seems perfect to fair skins like mine, and I had it for some time on my wishlist. I doubted between that one and Torrid, but I have also the Orgasm, so I opted for the Amour, because it is matte and seems more different (at least to me).

De labiales, tenía en mi wishlist éste y el Barbadella, que no lo tenían. Tengo bastantes labiales rojos, así que fiché el Dolche Vita (uno de los labiales de culto de la marca) para tener alguno más rosadito, pero que no fuese "rosa rosa", porque los rosas me sientan fatal. El Dolce Vita es muy similar al tono de mis labios, por lo que queda muy natural y elegante, y tiene acabado sheer. La verdad es que ahora que lo he probado, me parece un "must". ¿No es precioso?

From lipsticks, this one and Barbadella were on my wishlist, but they didn't sell Barbadella. I have many red lipsticks, so I chose the Dolche Vita (one of the cult lipsticks from Nars) to have a more rosy one, which was not so pink, because pinks look awful on me. The Dolce Vita is very similar to the shade of my lips, so it looks very natural and elegant, and has sheer finish. The truth is that now that I've tried it, it seems a "must". Isn't it beautiful?

Skin79 - Touch Me Now (Mystic)

Hoy es un día muy especial, y es que, para todas aquellas que no lo sepáis, estreno canal de YouTube. Me ha costado animarme, porque la verdad es que no se me da nada nada bien hablar en público, pero bueno. Antes de ver el vídeo os recomiendo cotillearos bien la entrada, puesto que, debido a la mala calidad de imagen de mi cámara, no me ha sido posible mostrar "en directo" los swatches del producto en cuestión.
Y la cosa va de iluminadores, en este caso del Touch Me Now (Mystic) de Skin79.
Además del iluminador que me llevé a casa (para la colaboración con la marca), compré la BB Cream que veis en la foto para mi madre (fue la que más le gustó), y un lápiz de ojos Fantastic Eyes en negro para mi hermana pequeña. Fui con mi madre, y nos atendieron genial. Además, nos dieron un montón de muestras para mi, para mi hermana y para mi madre.

Today is a very special day, because, for those who don't know it, is my YouTube's channel opening. It was quite hard to me, because the truth is that I am very bad speaking in public (stage fright, you know). Before watching the video (in spanish...) I recommend to see entry well, since, due to the poor image quality of my camera, I have not been able to show "live" swatches of the product.
And today I'm going to speak about an illuminator/highlighter, the Touch Me Now (Mystic) from Skin79.
Besides the highlighter that I brought home (as a sponsorship), I bought the BB Cream that you can see in the picture for my mother (because it was her favorite), and a Fantastic Eyes eyeliner in black for my little sister. I went with my mother, and they were so kind, as always. Also, we got a lot of samples for me, my sister and my mother.

Como siempre, el packaging impecable. Me encanta el diseño de los productos de Skin79, ya que son modernos, sin resultar cutres o infantiles.

As always, impeccable packaging. I love the design from Skin79 products as they are modern without being tacky or childish.

Se trata de un iluminador multifunción que puede ser utilizado como sombra de ojos, colorete o iluminador, aportando un reflejo natural. Es un producto en polvo que viene en un estuche compacto con un espejo bastante grande (perfecto para retoques fuera de casa).

It is a multibrightener which can be used as an eyeshadow, a blusher, or a highlighter for creating a brighter complexion by glittering pearl reflecting in various angles. It comes with a wide mirror (perfect for touching  up our makeup outside home).

Me llamó mucho la atención porque me pareció más sutil que otros de otras marcas, como el archiconocido Mary-Lou Manizer de The Balm (me hubiese gustado poder haceros la comparativa, pero lleva desaparecido un par de semanas... cuando "aparezca" actualizaré el post con más fotos).

El producto se puede aplicar con los dedos, aunque yo lo aplico con una brocha de Real Techniques, la Setting Brush, que compré en iHerb (*os recuerdo que con mi código DJS736 os harán 10$ de descuento en vuestro primer pedido si supera los 40$, o 5$ de descuento si no los supera).

It caught my attention because it seemed more subtle than others of other brands such as the well-known Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm (I wish I could show you the comparison, but has been missing for a few weeks... when "it appears again", I will update the post with more photos).

The product can be applied with the fingers, but I apply it with a brush from Real Techniques, the Setting Brush, that I bought at iHerb (*remember that with my DJS736 code you will have $10 discount on your first order if over $40, or $5 discount if it's under $40).

Y por fin tenéis aquí la prueba de por qué me escondo detrás de la cámara: ¡pánico escénico! Siento mucho la baja calidad, y los cambios de planos, pero es todo lo que he podido hacer con el equipo (y el tiempo) que disponía. Perdonadme por estar tan "sosa", espero ir soltándome poco a poco.

P.D.: Grabé el vídeo el mismo día que hice el review de las lentillas Ice Melon Grey, y se me olvidó quitarlas, así que de paso podéis ver cómo quedan puestas "en vivo".

And finally, here you have the proof of why I hide behind the camera: stage fright! I'm sorry for the poor quality, and the random foreground changes, but that's all I could do with the equipment (and time) that I had. Forgive me for being so "dull", I hope to slowly letting go.
