Elate Clean Cosmetics (vegan!)

¡Buenas tardes chicas!
(Working on the translation right now. Come back in a few minutes!)

(Working on the translation right now. Come back in a few minutes!)

(Working on the translation right now. Come back in a few minutes!)

(Working on the translation right now. Come back in a few minutes!)

(Working on the translation right now. Come back in a few minutes!)

(Working on the translation right now. Come back in a few minutes!)

iHerb | January Haul '15 (Vegan!)

¡Feliz viernes, chicas!
Happy friday, girls!
Today I bring you my latest purchases at iHerb (December/January). As you know, they changed the international shipping rates (you can read all the info here), but still the shipping of this order was just a few cents more than the usual ($4'45 instead of $4), so I will continue buying on the website, as long as the shipping costs are ok for the products I want.
All products I will show you in this haul, besides being cruelty-free (as always), are vegan. Hope you like them!

The fist thing I did was repurchasing my most favorite moisturizer, that you have already seen in this blog: the Clarifying Therapy Moisturizer by Aubrey Organics. It is a 100% natural and vegan moisturizer with salicylic acid, which helps to keep my acne controlled. It has 50ml and is priced at $14'41.

Next thing was the the mineral foundation by Everyday Minerals with a matte finish, in the lightest shade: Fair 0N. I lost my favorite mineral foundation at home a couple of months ago (the Lily Lolo one), so I decided to buy this to try. It contains 4'8gr. of product, and is priced at $14.
If you are interested, the Lily Lolo one comes with more than twice the product, and is priced at €16'49 at Ecco Verde, so in my opinion, it's a better deal (and I like that one quite a lot).

The African Black Soap by Nubian Heritage is one my favorites from iHerb, and is the best "anti-blemish" soap that I've tried (and I have tried a lot of them).
It only costs $3.47 and contains 141 gr. of product.

I also bought vitamin B12, because as most of you know, I follow a 100% vegetarian diet (vegan). Vitamin B12 is not of animal origin, it comes from a bacteria, and can be obtained from feces and soil, but as I do not eat neither of them (do you...?), so I take this supplement two times a week. People who consume animal products usually get B12 indirectly, since the feed of these animals are fortified with B12, in addition to other fortified foods found in the market. Still, people following an omnivorous diet, as people who follow a strict vegetarian diet may be deficient in this vitamin, and this can lead to pernicious anemia.

The price of these is $7.77, and taking two a week, they will last almost a full year (50 weeks), so taking this lozenges "just in case" is really cheap. When the lack of B12 is evident, there may already be irreversible problems...

Also took the opportunity to add two new HURRAW! balms to my collection: Coffee Bean and Chai Spice. The smell of the Coffee Bean one isn't specially appealing to me, but I love it, because it really hydrates my lips. Chai Spice smells like chai tea, and I really LOVE this one! It seems very comforting to me as a winter scent. Both balms are vegan, with raw and premium organic ingredients. I recommend them 200%, and I think from now on, whenever I place an order with iHerb, I will add another HURRAW! balm to my collection...

Finally, I repeated with another seasoning by the brand Mrs Dash, this time with the "southern chipotle" seasoning bleand which has a spicy and sour taste. It comes with 71gr. of product (average spice pot), and is priced at $3.67.

And that is the end of my January of 2015 haul (December, actually...).
I remind you that using the code DJS736 they will make a discount of $10 on your order if it is over $40, and if your order is less than this, they will apply you a discount of $5. Shipping costs are now down to $4, so they would be free with any of the discounts. You can download the image and save it on your computer to get the code for future orders:

KmS Mineral Essentials | 9 Pieces Mini Kit

Happy thursday, everybody!
Today I'm here to review the brand Kms Mineral Essentials. 85% of their skincare line is vegan, while all their loose mineral makeup is vegan.
Thanks to the 9 piece "mini kit" ($29) sold on their website, I could try several products from this brand, and today I come to give you my opinion on them.
What you see in the picture is all the products that are included in the kit: a bag, a mini brush and eight deluxe samples of their products. In this mini kit, you can only choose two of the products (the mineral foundation shades of your choice), and the rest are preset. Supposedly, they come with just under 3 grams of product per jar (0.1 oz), which is great, but the size of the jars look small.

For starting, here you have the synthetic brush that includes the kit. I don't like it at all, as it is quite hard, and a bit scratchy. Personally, I would prefer if they included any other product instead of the brush, as I'm not going to use it (my mother does not dislike it, so I'll give it to her).

As for the products themselves, they come in a mini-jars with sifters that work great for avoiding the waste of product. The only downside is that the stickers with the names were misprinted, and they looked pixelated and blurry (yes, it is not because of my pic, they look like that in person).
The first four products I tried in the kit were:
Two mineral foundations (I chose the shades Fair and Porcelain), the Perfecting Mineral Veil in Translucent and the mineral concealer in Bisque.

I really liked the mineral foundations by this brand (Fair on the left, and Porcelain on the right) I speak in plural because the product is the same, although in reality the only one that I managed to wear was Porcelain, because Fair looks too orange on my face. Lately, I'm switching more and more to mineral foundations, and these ones blend quite well with the skin, but you have to moisturize the skin before using them, to avoid dry patches. They leave a soft and smooth skin to the touch, and the coverage is medium and a buildable, in a skin with blemishes and scars as mine. They work great on my sensitive skin, and have not broke me out. This only have 5 ingredients: Mica, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxide, and kaolin clay.

The translucent powder looks like there is quite evident and chalky in the swatch, but on my face I have not noticed this. It gives a matte finish, without adding any color (again, in the face the white spots that are noticeable in the macro picture do not appear). This just has three ingredients: mica, kaolin clay, and iron oxides.

Regarding the concealer, the shade (Bisque) is not right for me, but if I wanted to purchase the full size, they have a lighter shade available (and one darker). I tried it at home and although the coverage is good, it doesn't look well on my dry patches, so if we use it on pimples or dry skin, it is very obvious that we are wearing makeup. The ingredients are the same they have for their foundations.

The other four products that came with the set were two eye shadows (I got  Cocoa Puff and Cafe Au Lait, though now on the web it seems like they send the shade Caramel Sundae instead of Cocoa Puff), a highlighter (Morning Dew), and a blush in Fabulous, if I'm not mistaken... but now the set comes with a shade called Cosmopolitan, which I think is more universal.

Here you can see swatches of the eyeshadows Café Au Lait (left) and Cocoa Puff (right). Both have an amazing pigmentation, and they blend really nicely. My favorite is Cocoa Puff.

Below you have the highlighter in Morning Dew and the blush in Fabulous. The highlighter is similar to my skin tone, a tad pinker, and leaves a natural glow (I'll try to upload a video to Instagram).

The Fabulous blush is really fair, and once I blend it, is barely noticeable. I will only recommend this to girls with my skin tone or lighter, because I do not think that it will show up above a NC10.

The products from this kit that I love the most are the eye shadows which are amazing (I love Cocoa Puff!) The like their mineral foundation, and also their highlighter, although it's very subtle. The blush is too light, and barely noticeable once is blended with my skin, and I would not recommend the concealer to cover texturized skin. The synthetic brush is fail for me.
The good thing about the kit is that you have everything in very little space, so it is great for the handbag or short trips, although personally, I would invest in getting a couple of products that I really like in the full size for the same price of the set (for example, one of their foundations, and the Cocoa Puff shadow, or maybe their eyeshadows sets which look awesome!)
International shipments have a flat rate of $5'99.

Luxuria Cosmetics

Happy Wednesday, girls!
Today I come to tell you about a cruelty-free brand without parabens: Luxuria Cosmetics. In addition, many of their products are vegan, and they even have a tab on their website for people interested in vegan cosmetics.
Today I will review for all the products except the mascara.
I hope you like as much as me!

The first product I am going to talk about is a cream blush. It is very easy to work with both with our fingers or a brush, but I prefer to use it with my fingers, so it doesn't get as "dity-looking".
By itself it lasts me about 4 hours on the skin, and when it starts to fade, it does it evenly. We can also mattify it after with another powder blush over it, or use it as a base for other blushes, to make them last longer on our skin.

This particular shade is called Feisty, a lovely pink that looks really great on fair skin.
The finish is dewy, so if you do not like this type of finish, you could use some powder over it. It contains 4 grams of product, and has a shelf life of 12 months.
They have 6 different shades and each blush is priced at $16'95 (just over 12 €).

The following product has exactly the same packaging, and it is the concealer of the brand. The texture is harder than the cream blush, and, instead, it leaves a more matte appearance in the skin. It contains vitamin E, and is suitable for use both on blemishes and for the dark circles. It reminds me of the Mac Studio Finish Concealer, so I do not recommend them for the area of the undereye, as being a bit harder they tend to crease on this area.

My shade in particular is the fairiest one, the Neutral Fair. In the picture you can see  it alongside with the Mac Studio Finish Concealer in NC15. Although the picture may not be well appreciated (in person was even more obvious...), as you can see, the Mac concealer is a bit dark for me at this time of year (and that is way lighter than their foundations in the same shade...). However, the one by Luxuria Cosmetics fits much better my shade, and it is way more neutral.

I was "lucky " to have a "small accident" in my face with a microdermabrasion machine, and the result is what you can see on the picture: I filled my face with bloody and painful red stripes, which, moreover, did subsequently wound and get worse and even more apparent.
On the right you can see my skin after applying the concealer by Luxuria Cosmetics. As you can see , the change is quite radical, and it is a concealer that I highly recommend, although I must also say that when I have to correct blemishes with more volume is a bit more laborious to apply until I get the result I want.
The truth is that since Mac started to test on animals, I was worried about not finding a similar product to my Studio Fix Concealer, because when I use lower coverage foundations, a good concealer is essential for me, but I found in Luxuria Cosmetics a perfect substitute, cruelty-free, paraben-free , and also much cheaper.
They have 5 different shades, and they contain 5 grams of product. The expiration, like the cream blush, is 12 months, and is priced at $14'99 ( does not reach the 11 € ).

Now I will show you some of their vegan products. The first is its mineral powder on the Mineral Light shade.
First of all, say that I choose the wrong product because I was looking for a powder with a matte finish, and this have a dewy finish. I had never seen a mineral powder makeup with a dewy finish, and I was quite surprised, so if you like this type of finish, I encourage you to try them.

All the jars are properly sealed, and with the right number of holes so that the product comes out, but without coming out too much and getting everywhere, as it happens with other brands.
The coverage is sheer, but can be modulated to achieve a medium coverage.

In my case, I use them as a highlighting powder, and I really love them, though it was not the use that I intended to give to this product originally.
They contain quite a lot of product, namely 28 grams and they are priced at $35'95 (about €26). They also sell a mattifying powder, which was what I thought at one point was going to be this product, and cost $33'95.
As with the light that I have now in winter I have not managed to get either the effect of the powder, I've left a video on Instagram where you can see how beautiful they are applied as a highlighter.

Finally, I will show you some vegan eye products.
The jar format is the same, but smaller. They contain 3 grams of product.
On the left side you have one of their mineral eyeliners, the black one (they also have a dark brown). On the right you have two shades of mineral eyeshadows, the shades named Volcano and Coast, and you can find 21 different shades of mineral eyeshadows on their website.

I am completely in love with this products.
Coast is a skin shade on me with tiny sparkles that bring a lot of brightness, perfect for pinup looks.
Volcano is a burgundy shade with a beautiful shine, which works very well with the green eyes, although personally I think it's a shade that goes with any eye color.
The eyeliner is a very black matte black.
If you see the image I think words are unnecessary.
