Nabla Cosmetics | Diva Crime Haul (Vegan!)

¡Feliz jueves, chicas!
Happy Thursday girls!
Today I'm going to show you a 'haul' of the new lipsticks by Nabla Cosmetics, because they have sent me some of them, and as we were all like crazy about them all over Instagram, I decided to upload some pictures of the lipsticks that I've received so you can see how they look, and know my first impressions, in case any want to take advantage of their sale before it finishes (on May 7th).
This is a new collection of lipsticks named Diva Crime. They have a matte finish, and they are vegan! This means that not only their products are cruelty-free, but also, this lipsticks do not contain any ingredients derived from animals (as in the case of beeswax, lanolin or carmine).
It has come to my attention the fact that they are quite "small" (a finger smaller than MAC), but, however, they have a great amount of product: 4'2gr. (MAC lipsticks come with 3g., and my Dolce Vita by NARS has 3'4gr.). The packaging is steel-like, and seems very sturdy.

The collection consists of nine shades (I have 5 of them), that, as the brand says on its website, combine a matte finish with a light texture, covering the lips with just one swipe. When we apply them to the lips, they look somewhat shinnier, and after a few minutes they dry, leaving a velvety finish.

Alter Ego is a dark fuchsia (pink amaranth). It reminds me of All Fired Up by Mac, although AFU may be more pink and vibrant judging by the pictures online.

Domina is a dark plum with a touch of red. It is similar to Diva by Mac, although Diva is redder, and Domina is more plum (I'll upload a comparative if you want).

Ombre Rose is described as an old pink with mauve undertones. It looks a bit more orange/warm than Whipped Caviar by Nyx.

Portrait is a soft orange coral (coral peach?).

Rouge Mon Amour is a red with blue undertones, which helps to make the teeth look whiter. It is brighter and less dark than Russian Red by Mac.

Aquí podéis ver mis 5 tonos, de izquierda a derecha: Alter Ego, Domina, Ombre Rose, Portrait y Rouge Mon Amour.
Here you can see my 5 shades, from left to right: Alter Ego, Domina, Ombre Rose, Portrait and Rouge Mon Amour.

And here is the official video by the brand, where you can see lip swatches of all the shades available:

Obviously I haven't had time to test them properly, but I can tell you that when applied, the texture on the lip is very nice (not dry), and they stain the lips (the lips, or wherever you swatch them... I had to rub my arm with makeup remover to get rid of the swatches). The pigmentation is stunning.

Good morning!
Today I come to speak about the event that took place last Friday at Lush Spa Madrid. In commemoration of the World Day for Laboratory Animals, Lush and Animanaturalis organized a talk on animal experiments, the alternatives, and what can we do as consumers.
Before starting the speech, Lush received the award "People with Heart 2014" for being the most active company in animal defense, and was given by Aïda Gascón, the director of Animanaturalis.

In the words of Aïda, Lush is characterized for its constant fight for animals. "They don't just keep fighting against animal testing, but also continue donating money, with their Charity Pot, to charities for the rights of animals."
The other winners were the Bon Lloc Restaurant in Palma de Mallorca, as best vegan restaurant in Spain, and Guillermo Amengual, an activist of the year.

I could not agree more with the choice of Lush for the award, because I think that nowadays, in Spain, they are the cosmetic company that more actively fights to end animal testing. I really love this brand.

As many of you could not come to the speech, I asked permission to record it, and I've uploaded it to my Youtube channel, because I think that was a really interesting talk that all of you should see. As I told you on Instagram before, I think it is our obligation as consumers boycotting companies that make cruel and unnecessary tests in animals, and choose to invest in cruelty-free brands. The talk is about what is animal testing, alternatives to animal experimentation, the Stop Vivisection campaign, and a final round of questions, and at the end of the video, I took you with me to spend the afternoon, and I show you what Lush and AnimaNaturalis gave us as a present in the event. I hope you find it as interesting as I did! (it's in spanish)

Also, to make things even easier, I added a new tab to the blog: "Cruelty-free companies". I still have brands left to add, but now you have a good list that I think that can be very helpful when choosing which brands to buy. Those who are not in favor of animal experimentation, have a moral duty to stop funding those companies who torture animals.

NARS | All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

¡Buenas tardes, chicas!

Good evening, ladies! Today I come with the review of the new foundation by NARS: the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. I have mixed feelings with this foundation, but I hope you find this review helpful..
Just so you know, my skin is combo to oily, dehydrated and acne prone.

First, let's talk about the shade. I chose Siberia because that's my shade in the Sheer Matte. According to NARS, is a neutral shade, with a balance between pink and yellow. I hugely disagree. The shade is very very yellow, and is completely different from the shade of the Sheer Matte, which bothers me, because if the shade has the same name, it should be equivalent. I feel like a pale Simpson, though, unlike the Sheer Matte, this one looks a tad dark on me, perhaps because it is so yellow that the "mask effect" is more noticeable, and it oxidizes too.

Here you can see the comparison between the same shade (Siberia) in the Sheer Matte (left) and the All Day Luminous (right).

This time (finally!) they decided to include the pump, since with the previous foundations they had to be purchased separately, and spending €43 on a foundation it does not seem right having to spend another 5€ to buy the pump, it should be included. A point in favor of NARS.
Supposedly, the brand says that with this foundation we will achive a high coverage with a single "pump", despite having a very liquid texture. Unless you have perfect skin, this is not true. I just can cover half face with a pump, and this is excluding the forehead, and I wouldn't get full coverage. Also, I do not like using it on the forehead, because it makes my skin look super aged (and I'm not even 25!). I tried to apply it with a Beauty Blender, with my hands and with a brush, and the first two are the ways that work better for me.

Here you can see up close how this foundation looks on my skin. As you can see, it emphasizes any flakes, dryness, pores, hair or wrinkles that you have on the skin. The coverage is medium/high, but not full. Further, the foundation does not last 16 hours on the skin. On cold days, it looks awful in my driest areas. However, when it's warmer, as the day goes one and it melts a bit in to my skin I quite like how it looks (in fact, in Valencia, which was where I bought it, and the climate is much more humid than in Madrid, I liked more how it looked on me). There are days when I apply it and the skin looks beautiful, and there are others where I have to take all my makeup off and start from scratch with another foundation (as in the picture), that's why I'm in a love-hate relationship with this foundation. What I hate most is that makes the "invisible hair" very visible, and I end up with albino sideburns and moustache. Unfortunately, it does look bad more often than it looks good, and I have to have very well moisturized and exfoliated skin so that it doesn't look patchy. Maybe in summer with the hot weather from Madrid I will like it better.
In addition, it claims to be a foundation with a luminous finish, and I do not think so. In my skin I see more like a matte/satin finish, although it starts looking oily in a couple of hours.

Aquí os dejo los ingredientes:
Here you have the ingredients:

This is not a foundation that I will recommend, but I think it might work better on oily or normal skin with a uniforme shade and texture, since I have seen girls in YouTube with those characteristics that liked this foundation.

ColourPop | Lippie Stix (Vegan!)

¡Feliz viernes!
Happy Friday!
Today I come to speak about the Lippie Stix by ColourPop. For those who are unfamiliar with the brand, it is an american brand with high quality products at a good price. These Lippie Stix cost $5 each, which seems like a great price for me, and they have "dupes" of high-end brands and other brands which are not cruelty-free. In addition, both their lip liners and their lipsticks are all vegan, and most of their blushes and shadows too, with some exceptions. Today I will show the four Lippie Stix that I bought with Alba.
I should say that they still don't ship to Spain, but you can order via Shipito.

The lipsticks we choose had all a matte finish, except Bunny, which has a perlized finish. Still, I must say that I would describe the finish of their "matte" lipsticks as satin. They are very comfortable to wear because they have a creamy texture and they don't feel dry on the lips. The pigmentation of the matte lipsticks that we bought is opaque, however the "pearlized" finish does not have the same opacity.

They come in a white cardboard packaging with holographic lettering, and the color of the lipsticks is indicated with a sticker on it. Each lipstick contains 1g. of product, which, if I'm honest, it is not much, although it is true that I rarely finish a lipstick, and I rather pay a smaller amount and have many colors, than pay more for more amount in another brand, have less variety in my collection, and see how they expire before I finish tem.

Now lets see the colors!!
The first one is Feminist, a very dark purple reminiscent of Mac's Cyber, but I would say this is darker. The color is a dupe for the mate liquid lipstick in 'Potion' by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

The next one is Bunny, a medium green with small green shimmer. It is the least opaque of them all, and I would recommend buying the lip pencil of the same color, which they also sell on their website. It is almost a dupe for Lime Crime's Serpentine.

Lumière is the lipstick that Kathleen Lights created in collaboration with ColourPop. It is a mauvy dusty pink lipstick. It's a dupe for Anna by NARS.

Finally we have Pitch, wich is a dark chocolate brown. I have my doubts about whether or not to buy this color because it is quite different from the lipsticks I have in my collection, but I'm very happy I purchased it. Being such a dark lipstick I would also recommend buying the matching pencil to outline the lip.

And here you have the swatches (left to right): Feminist (matte), Bunny (perlized), Lumière (matte) and Pitch (matte). As you can see, the "matte" lipsticks from this brand are creamy.

This lipsticks last well on me. If I drink and it I have to reaply in about 4 hours.
