Favoritos - Abril '14

We are already in May, so today I bring you on this post my April Favorites.
Hope you like it!

I will start with face products, and this month I've been loving my mineral foundations.
I've used most of the month the mineral foundation by Lily Lolo in the shade Porcelain (16'49€ the full size here), which I love, but I went on vacations, and I got a bit of a "tan", and had to change to the foundation by Ocean Mist Cosmetics in the shade Vanilla (Fairiest Warm) (16'95€ the full size here, and review here).
Both are great, especially applied with the flat brush from the Metal Glam by Vanity Tools (7'95€ here and review here).

Regarding eyes, I will begin with the Green Liner by Boho Green Revolution (11'50€ here, and review here).

As my mascara, I have been delighted with the Bio by Avril (7€ here, and review here), which initially did not seem anything special, and made my eyelashes look quite poor, but right now I'm really liking it. Now that the formula has dried a bit, leaves a very nice look on my eyelashes. The best thing is that being a natural product is very easy to remove, like the eyeliner from Boho.

As a base to my eyeshadows I've been using all month a shadow stick by Jordana in the shade 04 Continuous Almond (4'75€ here). It holds with no creases my eyeshadows for hours, in addition to neutralizing the shade of the eyelid. It is like a low-cost, pencil form and cruelty-free version of the Paintpots by Mac.

As for eyeshadows, I've been using day in and day out my Makeup Geek eyehadows ($5'99 here, and review here).

Another favorite would be the palette in which I have them, a magnetized palette for 12 eyeshadows by Coastal Scents (8'75€ here), and since it is magnetized, the MUG shadows "stick" to it without problems. It also has a gap next to each eyeshadow to make them easier to remove. It's tough, and good quality, and I fully recommend it.

For the cheeks I've used a lot the Lace palette by Sleek, especially the shade that you see on the left (12'75€ here, and review here).

And finally, a few non-makeup favorites.

The first one would be the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical (3'75€ for a small one here, and review here). It was my least favorite from the brand, and started using it this month to finish it. With the use I've been liking it more and more, and I have even come to like the of it (maybe because it reminds me of summer?).

As for makeup remover, I have been using a micellar water by Cosmia Green (am Auchan brand) (about 2 or 3€). It works great, and for the price I repeat again and again.

Finally, my favorite perfume of the moment: the 53F by Larome (like Chloé) (20'50€ for 100ml here, review here). The smell is very floral and lasts all day.

Y hasta aquí los favoritos de Abril. ¿Cuáles han sido vuestros productos favoritos? ¿Compartimos alguno?
And those are my April favorites. Which products were your favorite ones this past month? Do we have any one in common?

Ocean Mist Cosmetics

It's Friday!!
Today I'm going to review a brand that I've been trying lately. Its name is Ocean Mist Cosmetics, and it's a family owned business that offers high quality, affordable mineral makeup and other cosmetics. As always on this blog, cruelty-free.
Mineral makeup is a very lightweight makeup that can be applied using a powder brush or flocked sponge depending on the coverage you want. They say that their formulation is so light, that you won't even realize that you're wearing makeup.
Their mineral makeup contains no bismuth oxychloride, fragrances, or oils. They use 100% cosmetic grade ingredients in their formulations and there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction.
They also offer other cosmetics that are not mineral based. Ingredient lists of these products are available for viewing on their website.

But today I'm going to review their mineral makeup: their foundations, eyeshadows, blushes and concealers.

I will start with the foundations and the concealer that I've tried.
The foundations that I choose were "Porcelain" and "Vanilla". The truth is that they have an incredibly huge color range to choose from, I'm very sure that you'll find one that fits you!
The concealer I decided to try was the "Sea Foam Green", a green concealer to neutralize redness. You've got a tutorial in how to apply mineral makeup on their website.

I loved the shades from the mineral foundations. I chose two of the lighter range, one in a neutral shade, and other in a warmer shade. As you can see are very fair foundations, perfect for the "Snow-white-followers".

Its coverage pleasantly surprised me. As you can see on the picture, with little product you get medium coverage and an amazing correction on the color of my acne scars. I know that this macro is rather "unpleasant", but wanted to show how the mineral foundations worked in the worst area of my face, so that the results you see are as realistic as possible. It makes no sense to show you how it works on a perfect beautiful skin, right?

On the other hand I must say that it doesn't control shines on my oily skin. It's a shame, because it would be perfect.

Prices: $14.95 (Full Size Rotating Sifter) $12.95 (Full Size = 30gr.), $8.95 (Full Size Refill), 6'95$ (Travel Size = 10gr.) and 1'50$ (Sample Size = 1/2 teaspoon in a  bag).

FINAL RATING: 6/10*
(Price/Quality) *for oily skin

About the corrector, I must say I am delighted. At firs, I didn't trust anything in a powder concealer, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. To make the results more visible, I took a picture on the back of my hand (since palms are the most red part of my body). A picture is worth a thousand words:

VALORACIÓN FINAL: 8/10
(Calidad/Precio)

Geniales, ¿verdad?
FINAL RATING: 8/10
(Price/Quality)

Let's speak about their eyeshadows. The pigmentation is great, they lasts well, and the colors are gorgeous. You can use both dry and wet conditions. The photos are, as always, without the help of Mixing or any eyeshadow insurance. Cool, right?

On their website you will find 16 mineral matte eyeshadows and 48 shimmer, pearl or metallic. My favourites were Eva, Volcanic and Purple Puffin, and you have swatches of all of them on their website, so before you buy, I recommend searching swatches online. I hope mines help.

Prices: $6.98 (Full Size = One teaspoon in a 10g. Sifter Jar) , $3.80 (Travel Size = 1/2 Teaspoon in a 5g Sifter Jar) y $1.35 (Sample Size = 1/8 teaspoon in a sample bag).

FINAL RATING: 8/10
(Price/Quality)

Finally, I will show you my favorite product: their blushes. These products are very pigmented, so a small amount goes a long way. They last all day, and they look so great on your face. In the picture you can see the three shades that I have, well marked and faded.

(Calidad/Precio)

In this case, the color range is smaller: 11 shades of mineral blushers and bronzers.

Prices: $10.95 (Full Size Rotating Sifter), $8.95 (Full Size = 20g Sifter Jar), $6.85 (Travel Size = 10g Sifter Jar) y $1.35 (Sample Size = 1/4 teaspoon in a sample bag).

FINAL RATING: 10/10
(Price/Quality)

DÓNDE COMPRAR / WHERE TO BUY

I was very happy with the products of the brand. They have very good quality and do not contain harmful ingredients to our skin, as we know that many "big brands" do. And I, as always, happy to "introduce you" Cruelty-Free brands that may not be as well known for everybody, because to be beautiful it is necessary any animal cruelty, specially nowadays that we have thousands of different options on the market .
I hope you liked it!
