Haul Illamasqua - Julio 2013 (Parte II)

Mañana me voy de viaje a Amsterdam, por lo que no podré actualizar, así que he decidido subir ya la segunda parte del Haul a Illamasqua para no tener esto abandonado de nuevo. Si no habéis visto la primera parte, no dudéis en pasar por el post anterior.

Tomorrow I will start my holidays traveling to Amsterdam, where I can not update, so I decided to upload today the second part of the Illamasqua's Haul, so this blog doesn't look abandoned too many days. If you have not seen the first part, do not hesitate to go through the previous post.

Empezaré por uno de los productos que más me han gustado: los coloretes. Tienen unas tonalidades preciosas, y se trabajan muy bien. Son muy pigmentados, pero he de decir que al pasar la brocha han soltado un poco de polvillo (no sé si por el hecho de ser tan "finos").
El primero que escogí fue Hussy, un colorete mate que definen en la web como un rosa caramelo brillante. Cuesta £18.

I will start with one of the products I most liked: the blushes. They have beautiful shades, and you can work with them very well. They are very pigmented, but I will say that when you pass the brush over them, you will get some dust, because they are so finely milled.

The first one I chose was Hussy, a matte blush defined in the web as a bright candy pink. It costs £18.00.

El siguiente es Tremble, que definen como un rosa liláceo suave, también de acabado mate. Es un tono que cambia bastante dependiendo de la luz. La foto la he sacado con flash, y he intentado que fuese lo más respetuosa posible al color que se ve en el pan. También cuesta £18.

The next one is Tremble, which they define as a soft lilac pink, with a matte finish too. It is a shade that is quite different depending on the light. I've taken all the pictures with flash, and I tried to be as respectful as possible to the color you see on the pan. 
This one is also £18.00.

Por último, me hice con mi primer colorete "naranja" de acabado mate, el famoso Lover. En la web lo definen como un albaricoque suave, y ahora mismo lo tenéis casi a mitad de precio, por solo £10.00.

Finally, I picked up my first "orange" matte blush, the famous Lover. On the web they define the color as a soft apricot, and now you have it almost half price, for only £ 10.00.

Aquí tenéis los tres tonos juntos para que podáis comparar mejor los colores. Soy fan total de los coloretes mate, por lo que pensé que sería una buena idea empezar con ese acabado, ya que nunca había probado ni tenido delante ningún colorete de la marca, y creo que he acertado de lleno, puesto que a pesar de ser muy distintos de como muestran en la web (os recomiendo buscar swatches online), los tres son tonos preciosos, muy ponibles, y de los cuales no he encontrado clones en mi colección.

Here are the three colors together so you can compare better the colors. I'm a total fan of matte blushes, so I thought it would be a good idea to start with this kind of finish. I had never tried before any blush form this brand, and I think I have chosen well, since, despite being very different from what they show on their website (I recommend you to search online for the swatches), all of them are beautiful shades, very wearable, and I coudn't fine any dupe for them on my collection.

Estos son los swatches que hice yo de los coloretes, tanto los de este post, como los del post anterior. A pesar de que es en Tremble donde definen el color con un subtono liláceo, yo veo más liláceo el Katie, ¿qué pensáis?

These are the swatches of all the blushes, the ones from this post, as the ones of the previous post. Although it is Tremble the one that they define as having a lilac undertone, I find Katie to be more lilac, what do you think?

Como el labial que compré yo ya os lo enseñé en la anterior entrada, sólo me queda por mostrar la sombra de ojos que me compré. Mi idea traerme el pigmento en crema Hollow, para contornear el rostro, pero en el momento de hacer el pedido estaba fuera de stock. Decidí animarme con la sombra Heroine para el mismo fin, ya que en la web el color parecía similar al colorete Taupe de NYX. Este tiene un precio de £15.50.

As I already showed you the lipstick that I bought in the previous post, I just have left to show the eyeshadow that I bought. My idea was to pick the Hollow cream pigment as a contour shade for the face, but at the time when we ordered, it was out of stock. I decided to cheer with the Heroine eyeshadow for the same purpose, as on the web the color looked similar to NYX Taupe blush. This one is priced at £15.50.

Al llegar a casa me di cuenta de que el tono no era tan grisáceo como el Taupe de NYX, sino que se asemejaba algo más a la sombra Naked 2 de la paleta Naked Basics de Urban Decay.

When I have it at home I realized that the shade was not as gray as the NYX Taupe but something resembling to the Naked 2 eyeshadow from Urban Decay's Naked Basics.

Haul Illamasqua - Julio 2013 (Parte I)

¡Por fin empiezan las vacaciones! (al menos para mi...)
Siento muchísimo haber tenido el blog abandonado, pero he querido centrarme en los exámenes, ¡pero ya estoy de vuelta!
Hoy os traigo un pedido conjunto a Illamasqua. La mitad de los productos del haul no son míos, pero su dueña me ha dejado amablemente grabarlos y fotografiarlos para vosotras (subiré vídeos con swatches en movimiento de los mismos al canal de YouTube en unos días). Era un pedido que teníamos planeado desde hace mes y medio, pero no fue hasta el pasado fin de semana cuando por fin pude ponerle las garras  a todo encima. Como quería enseñar fotos comparativas de los productos, he preferido dividir la entrada en dos partes. En ésta primera incluiré los artículos que no pedí yo, y en la siguiente os enseñaré los míos. ¡Espero que os gusten!

I'm finally starting the holidays! 

I feel thrilled to have abandoned the blog, but I wanted to focus on exams without any other "distraction". I'm back now!

Today I bring my haul with a friend to Illamasqua. Half of the products from this haul are not mine, but her owner kindly let me record and photograph them for you (I'll upload videos with moving swatches to the YouTube channel in a few days). It was an order that we planned for a month and a half, but it was not until last weekend when I finally put the claws over our things. I wanted to show you comparison swatches of the products with other "similar" ones, so I prefer to split the haul into two parts. In this first part I will include the items that where not for me, and in a next post I'll show you mines. I hope you like!

Primero empezaré por una preciosa paleta que estuve a punto de comprar también, y me arrepentí enormemente de no hacerlo: se trata de la Complement Palette. He de adelantaros que todavía no tengo fotos de los swatches, puesto que olvidé sacarlas, y la dueña se la llevó ayer a casa, pero le pediré próximamente que la traiga para poder sacar las fotos oportunas y actualizaros la entrada. Mientras tanto podéis ver los swatches de Catanya's Things.
La paleta consta de tres sombras:
- Slink: un champagne suave con shimmer, perfecto para iluminar.
- Focus: una sombra en crema de un color marrón metálico.
- Forgiveness: un tono borgoña mate.
- Queen of the Night: un morado oscuro metalizado.
Las cuatro sombras tienen una pigmentación fantástica, y la paleta tiene un precio de £34.

I will begin first with a beautiful palette that I was about to buy too, and greatly regretted not doing it: it is the Complement Palette. 
I haven't got yet pictures of the swatches of this palette, since I forgot to do them, and the owner took it to her home yesterday, but I will ask her to bring the palette to my home soon to take pictures and show them to you. Meanwhile you can see swatches of Catanya's Things.

The palette has three eyeshadows:

- Slink: a soft champagne shimmer which is perfect for highlighting.

- Focus: a metallic brown cream eyeshadow.

- Forgiveness: a matte burgundy shade.

- Queen of the Night: a dark metallic purple.

The four shadows have great pigmentation, and the palette is priced at £34.

En cuanto a los labiales, yo sólo pedí el ESP (que también podéis ver en la foto). Son todos de una textura tipo cera bastante seca, aunque los colores son preciosos y muy intensos.

Regarding the lipsticks, I only ordered the ESP (which you can also see in the photo). They have all a waxy texture which seems quite dry, although the colors are beautiful and very intense.

La marca tiene una amplia variedad de tonos de lo más originales, y Flare y Over tienen un punto neón que no se aprecia en la foto. En cuanto a la aplicación, los que más uniformes quedan son Magnetism, Flare y Over, mientras que ESP parchea un poco, así que tendré que probar a aplicarlo sobre un lápiz de labios de un color similar o con un gloss encima. Cada uno de ellos tiene un precio de £16.50.

The brand has a wide variety of the most original shades, and Over and Flare look quite neon and bright in person. Regarding the application, the most uniform ones are Magnetism, Flare and Over, while ESP patches a bit, so I'll have to try to apply it over a lip pencil in a similar color or a gloss on top. Each one of this lipsticks is priced at £ 16.50.

Si ponemos el Flare de Illamasqua junto al Morange de Mac se puede apreciar un subtono más amarillento en mismo.

If we put together Illamasqua's Flare and Mac's Morange we would appreciate a more yellow undertone in it.

El labial más similar que he encontrado al Over de Illamasqua es el Peach 07 de Belle. Sin embargo, éste último es más rosado.

The most similar lipstick that I've found to Illamasqua's Over is Belle's Peach 07. However, Peach 07 is more pinkish.

El Magnetism, al colocarlo entre el Rebel y su cuasi-gemelo de H&M, tiene un punto mucho más rosado, y dependiendo de la luz, se ve mucho más rojizo/vino, como pudisteis apreciar en la foto comparativa que subí por Instagram.

Illamasqua's Magnetism, when placed between the Rebel and its near-twin by H&M, looks much pinker, and depending on the lighting, it looks much more red/wine, as you could see in the comparison picture that I uploaded to Instagram.

Aquí tenéis los tres labiales de María en su boca. Como veis, el Over es el que marca más las pielecillas, mientras que el Flare y el Magenta, a pesar de ser también secos, dejan un aspecto más uniforme.

Here you have Maria's lipsticks on her mouth. As you can see, Over looks more waxy than the others, while Flare and Magenta, besides being dry too, look more uniform on the lips.

El único pigmento que se compró fue el Dab. Yo quería hacerme con el Hollow para el contorno, pero en el momento de hacer el pedido estaba fuera de stock. Éstos pigmentos en crema están pensados para su uso en ojos, labios, cara y cuerpo, y tienen un precio de £17.50.
Al ser un producto en crema no quise "meter el dedazo" estando sin estrenar, pero luego lo probé con su dueña y el color queda exactamente tal y como se ve en la foto.

The only pigment that was purchased on this haul was Dab. I wanted to get my hands on Hollow for contouring, but at the time that we order it was out of stock. These cream pigments are designed to use on eyes, lips, face and body, and are priced at £17.50.
Being a cream product I did not wanted to "put my fingerprints" being new, but then I tried it with its owner, and the color is exactly what you in the picture.

El último producto de ésta entrada es el dúo de coloretes Katie/Ambition. Es un dúo perfecto para las amantes de los tonos rosados, y ambos quedan muy bonitos aplicados sobre la piel. Eso sí, Katie es un tono bastante pálido, por lo que no sé cómo quedará sobre una tez bronceada.
Hay otros dos dúos disponibles, y tienen un precio de £26.

The latest product of this entry is the powder blush duo in Katie/Ambition. It is a perfect duet for those who love pink blushes, and both look very nice applied to the skin. Yes, Katie is a pretty pale shade, so I do not know how it will look on a tanned complexion.
There are two other duos available, and are priced at £26.

La duración de los coloretes, por lo poco que he podido probar, es magnífica: sólo llevé uno de los míos un día, pero me aguantó las 9 horas que estuve maquillada intacto. Si bien el packaging es un poco abultado, y se puede hacer más incómodo que un colorete de Nars o Sleek, me parece que merecen mucho la pena.

The lasting of the blushes, from what I could try, is superb: I just wore one of mine one day, but it lasted the nine hours I had makeup on intact. While the packaging is a bit bulky, and can be more uncomfortable than Nars or Sleek, I think the blushes really deserve it.

12 Meses, 12 Sombras

A principios de año, desde el blog de Wayaiulandia nos proponían un "juego" sólo apto para adictas al maquillaje. A través del juego, nos proponían desempolvar una sombra olvidada por mes, y darle el máximo uso que pudiésemos durante todo ese mes.

Earlier this year, on Wayaiulandia's blog, she proposed a "game" only suitable for makeup addicts. Through the game, she proposed to dust a forgotten eyeshadow every month, and give it the maximum use that we could during that month.

Yo pensé en unirme al reto la primera vez que lo vi, pero por unas cosas u otras, lo acabé olvidando. Ahora, medio año después de que el reto empezase, he decido unirme. Nunca es tarde, ¿no? Os propongo a las que todavía no supieseis del reto o no os hayáis unido a él, que os unáis conmigo y les demos tute a esas sombras olvidadas durante lo que nos queda de año. Para ello, podéis descargar "el calendario de las tardonas" con los 6 primeros meses del año ya tachados. Con cualquier programa de edición (Photoshop, mismamente) podremos añadir la foto de la sombra que hayamos rescatado en cada mes. Si no tenéis ni idea de editar, ¡tampoco pasa nada! Podéis simplemente comentar en vuestro blog cuál es la sombra que habéis rescatado, o compartirla en las distintas redes sociales (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter,...) con el hasta #12meses12sombras.

I thought about joining the challenge the first time I saw it, but for one reason or another, I ended up forgetting about it. Now, half a year after the challenge started, I've decided to join. It's never too late, right? I suggest to those who din't known about the challenge or have not attached to it yet, to join me and give some love to those shadows that have been forgotten for the rest of the year. To do this, you can download "the schedule of the slowcoaches" with the first 6 months of the year crossed out. With any editing program (like, for example, Photoshop) we can add the photo of the eyeshadow that we rescued in each month. If you have no idea of editing, it doesn't matter! You can just comment on your blog which is the eyeshadow that you have rescued, or share it on the social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, ...) with the #12meses12sombras #12months12eyeshadows hashtag.

Además, éste reto podemos hacerlo con cualquier otro producto que tengamos por casa. En mi caso, he decidido hacerlo también con labiales (#12meses12labiales), puesto que al final siempre acabo recurriendo a los mismos, y éste es el calendario diseñado para ese fin:

Moreover, this challenge can be done with any other product that we have at home. In my case, I decided to do it with lip products (# 12meses12labiales / #12months12lipsticks), since, at the end, I always end up using the same ones, and this is the schedule designed for this purpose:

O, por poner otro ejemplo, podemos hacerlo con coloretes (#12meses12coloretes). En mi caso podría rescatar así muchos coloretes de "baja gama" que he dejado apartados. Incluso, para obligarnos, podemos guardar en un cajón nuestros coloretes preferidos, y dejar a mano el "colorete del mes" para tirar siempre de él cuando vamos con prisas, ¿no os parece?

Or, to take another example, we can do this with blushes (#12meses12coloretes / #12months12blushes). In my case, I could rescue so many "low cost" blushes that I haven't been used that much. Even, to force us, we can keep in a drawer our favorite blushes, and let the "blush of the month" closer to us to always use them when we are in a hurry, don't you think?

Si tenéis menos productos que rescatar, y preferís hacer un mix, podéis usar el calendario que os dejo a continuación y elegir cada mes un producto que prefiráis (ya sean de los anteriormente mencionados, o incluir geles de baño, colonias, cremas, bases de maquillaje, o lo que queráis gastar). Puede ser una buena forma de "deshacerse" de productos que no nos gustan antes de que nos caduquen, o redescubrir viejos amores (#12meses12productos).

Os aviso que en éste reto quizá enseñe también productos no cruelty-free (ya sea porque los compré hace años, porque me los han regalado, o porque, como es el caso de MAC, los compré antes de que la marca empezase a testar en animales). Espero que no os parezca incorrecto. Por supuesto, antes de cada entrada donde enseñe un producto del reto, lo indicaré en el caso de que la sombra/labial en cuestión no sea cruelty-free.

I advise you that in this challenge I may also use non cruelty-free products (either because I bought them many years ago, because I have been given them, or because, as in the case of MAC, I bought them before the brand started to test in animals). I hope it doesn't seem wrong to you. Of course, before each post where I show a product from the challenge, I will indicate if the eyeshadow or the lipstick that I've been using during the month is not cruelty-free.

Favoritos - Junio '13

Hoy os traigo mis favoritos de Julio. He estado usando mucho algunos productos que tenía abandonadillos, y otros nuevos, ¡espero que os gusten!

Today I bring you my June's favorite products. I've been using a lot some products that I forgot using for quite a while, and some new products, I hope you like them!

La Glamour Sponge ha sido mi herramienta preferida para aplicar el maquillaje durante el mes de Junio. Tengo pendiente hacer un review completo de la misma, pero me gusta muchísimo como aplica el producto. La forma es similar a la Thin Sponge de Skin79, solo que ésta aumenta su tamaño al ser humedecida. Cuando tengo muchas prisas suelo recurrir a la Thin Sponge, ya que resulta mucho más sencilla de limpiar, pero cuando puedo permitirme un poquillo más de tiempo, uso la Glamour Sponge. Además, al humedecerla resulta muy agradable en el rostro en éstos días de calor. 

The Glamour Sponge has been my favorite tool for applying makeup during the month of June. I have to do a full review on it yet, but I really like how it applies the product. The shape is similar to the Thin Sponge by Skin79, very ergonomic, but this one increases its size when wet, while the Thin Sponge doesn't. When I'm a big hurry I use the Thin Sponge instead, since it is much faster to clean, but when I can afford a little bit more time, I use the Glamour Sponge. Moreover, it feels very nice when moisten on the face in these hot days.

Mi piel ha estado muy rebelde últimamente. Me han salido bastantes granitos, supongo que en parte a que he estado descuidando mi alimentación. El Aceite de Árbol de Té ha sido mi gran aliado para secar los granitos más rápidamente, y he tenido que aplicarlo prácticamente día sí y día también.

My skin has been very rebellious lately. I have many pimples, I guess in part because I've been neglecting my diet. The Tea Tree Oil has been my great ally to dry pimples quite faster, and I had to practically apply it day in and day out.

Mi labial preferido y al que más he recurrido es el Dolce Vita de NARS. Deja un acabado muy natural en mis labios, y me resulta cómodo de llevar. En ésta última semana he recurrido diariamente a otro de MUA, pero al no haberlo usado durante todo el mes, sería un poco trampa, aunque estoy segura de que saldrá en mis favoritos del próximo mes.
Para mi, es el labial perfecto para diario, y si os gustan los labios con un look natural, tenéis que probar éste.

My favorite lipstick and the one that I've been reaching the most is NARS Dolce Vita. It leaves a very natural finish on my lips, and I find it comfortable to wear. On this day last week I turned to another one by MUA, but I have not used it throughout the month, so I would be cheating if I showed it here, but I'm sure it will come in next month's favorites.
To me, it's the perfect lipstick for everyday, and if you like the lips with a natural look, you need to try it.

Este mes no he usado demasiado a los iluminadores, a decir verdad, pero siempre que lo he hecho ha sido a éste de Skin79 del que os hablé con anterioridad. Es una preciosidad, y queda muy bonito en pieles pálidas, ya que no tira a amarillento, dorado o rosa, como hacen gran parte de los iluminadores del mercado.

This month I have not used highlighters too much, actually, but whenever I have applied one, it was this one from Skin79, of which I spoke earlier. It's gorgeous, and looks nice on pale skin because it does not throw a yellow, gold or pink, as do many of the highlighters that we can find in the market.

En cuanto a coloretes, he recurrido muchísimo a éste colorete en crema de MUA, en el tono Bittersweet. Aguanta bastante bien en la piel, y deja un tono muy saludable. Como veis, es muy rosa, aunque también he estado utilizando otro tono que me llegó hace poquito y es más "natural" para pieles con subtonos más amarillentos. Por el precio que tienen, me parecen geniales.

As for blush, I have reached a lot to this cream blush by the UK brand MUA in the shade Bittersweet. It lasts well on the skin, and makes me look very healthy. As you can see, it is very pink, although I have also been using another shade that I recently got which is a bit more "natural" for skin with more yellow undertones. For the price they have, they are great.

Mi sombra para iluminar más usada durante Junio ha sido la 168 de Kiko, un blanco perlado muy bonito que queda genial en el lagrimal para abrir la mirada. La tenía muy abandonada, por lo que la depoté y la pasé a mi paleta de Neve Cosmetics para tenerla más a mano, al igual que he ido haciendo con otras de mis sombras de Kiko. Al tenerlas depotadas todas en una misma paleta, me resulta mucho más cómodo utilizarlas.

My most used highlighting eyeshadow during June was the 168 from Kiko, a very nice pearly white that looks great on the tear to open the eyes. I had it quite abandoned, so I depoted it and put it on my Neve Cosmetics palette to have it at hand, as I've been doing with my other Kiko eyeshadows. Having them depoted all in one palette, I find it much more comfortable to use them.

Pero sin duda, la sombra que más he utilizado durante el mes es la 410 de CATRICE. Me encanta ésta sombra, y he estado completamente obsesionada con ella. Tiene un tono muy especial, y os recomendaría añadirla a vuestra colección si todavía no la tenéis.

But undoubtedly my most I used eyeshadow during the month was the CATRICE 410. I love this shade, and I've been completely obsessed with it. It has a very special color, and I recommend adding it to your collection if you haven't yet.

Como base, mi preferida sigue siendo la BB Cream Vital Orange de Skin79, pero como he estado probando distintos productos durante el mes, y no la he usado mas que un par de veces, no podía incluirla en los favoritos de Junio. Otro producto que faltaría sería mi amada Naked Basics, a la que he vuelto a recurrir casi a diario, pero no quería repetirme demasiado, y por eso no la incluí en los favoritos del mes.

As a foundation, my favorite is still the Vital Orange BB Cream by Skin79, but as I've been trying different products over the month, and I have not used it more than a few times, so I could not include it in the list of June. Another product that should be here is be my beloved Naked Basics, which I use almost daily, but I did not want to repeat myself too much, and so did not include it in this month's favorites.
