Today is the premiere of my first post on "The Clone Wars" series. I will start this series with a brand that was one of my favorites: Benefit. Although in its website they say openly that they don't test in animals, a follower on Instagram told me that I they had started to sell in the Chinese market, which I corroborated with a message to the official Benefit's HK Facebook page, where they confirmed that in China their products are being tested on animals, but they are not the ones who do it directly. Don't piss me of! You started to sell in the chinese market because you wanted to, Benefit, but then you say you are against animal testing and washed your hands saying that "the evil chinese are the ones who are testing your products" (you have all the info on my Facebook page).
In short, I had to find a replacement for one of my favorite products from Benefit: their High Beam highlighter. I only had a small sample that came in a pack, and planned to buy the full size when it ran out, but after knowing that their products are being tested on animals, I don't want to buy from them again. Specially when they cheated us on their website trying to confuse people.
So when I found Beat the Blues highlighter in Pearl Pink shade by the cruelty-free brand MeMeMe on Maquillalia's website, did not hesitate to buy it to see in person if they were as similar as they seemed.
Here you can see the sample size of 4ml. pf the High Beam VS. 12ml full size of the Pearl Pink. As you see, even the packaging is very similar, as is the case with other products of the brand MeMeMe regarding Benefit.

Tentador, ¿verdad?
The format is the same: both are in the jar in the form of a nail polish with a brush to apply the product. I must say that the Benefit's brush is better than MeMeMe's, though for me it is a bit indifferent, and I apply the product with my fingers because I find it more hygienic. The first one, in its full size, is priced at about €27 here in Spain, against the less than €8 that costs the MeMeMe's highlighter. Tempting, isn't it?
But here you have the swatch that is what you are interested in. The product from MeMeMe is a bit more dense than Benefit's. It is also a tad more pink, but nothing really visible after applying the product. As you can see from the swatches, they are not exactly the same, they look in the swatch like 90%, although I must say that applying on product on one side and the other on the other, I did not notice absolutely any difference. The same to its duration on the skin. For me, they are almost perfect dupes.

¿Clones, o no?
Conclusion: The fact that the product from Benefit is tested on animals Benefit makes me discard it on my wishlist, but considering over€20 of difference between the two, I definitely prefer the MeMeMe one. What do you think? Dupes, or not?
