Hoy os traigo un post que tengo atrasado, ya que se trata de una cajita del mes de Octubre de una suscripción mensual, la Kawaii Box, que tiene un precio de 18'50$ (unos 15€, envío incluido a todo el mundo) con un popurrí de entre 10 y 12 "cosillas adorables" de marcas originales de Japón y Corea (Rilakkuma, Hello Kitty, Pocky, Sanrio, Totoro, Alpacasso...)

Today I bring you a post that I should have posted a while ago, because it's the box of October for a monthly subscription, Kawaii Box, which is priced at $18'50 (15€, shipping included worldwide) with a medley of 10 to 12 "lovely items" from original brands from Japan and Korea (Rilakkuma, Hello Kitty, Pocky, Sanrio, Totoro, Alpacasso...)

Estas fueron todas las cosas que recibí yo en la caja de octubre. A grandes rasgos, se pueden ver un montón de "trastos monosos". El supuesto "valor real" de los productos que incluyen sus cajitas es de unos 40$.

These were all things that I got on October's box. Broadly speaking, you can see a lot of cute stuff. The supposed "real value" of the products that include their boxes is about $40.

Lo primero que encontré fue una lámina de pegatinas de conejillos que me encantó. También había pegatinas para decorar el móvil (en japón lo hacen mucho), que a mi para el móvil ni fu ni fa, porque no es mi estilo... Lo de la derecha es una tarjeta con forma de conejito, y su sobre.

The first thing I got was a sheet of bunny stickers which I loved. There were also stickers to decorate our mobile phones (in Japan they do this a lot), which are not not my style. The paper-thingy you see on the right is a bunny-shaped card, with a cute envelope.

También venían estas gomitas de pelo con un adorno de caramelo. A mi me pilla "mayor", o fuera del rollo, pero seguro que alguna de mis primas/sobrinas peques darán buena cuenta de ellas.

These also come with rubber bands for our hair that look like candy. This are not my style, but my little cousins would love thoe ones, so I will give them those ones!

El peluche Nemuneko y el charm de Rilakkuma me parecen adorables, aunque todavía no les he encontrado un "sitio fijo" para ponerlos (podéis colocarlos en una mochila, en el coche...) Neko (mi gatete) quiere que le regale a Nemuneko, pero no lo tengo nada claro... hahahaha.

The Nemuneko plush and the Rilakkuma charm are really adorable, but I have not found a place for them yet (maybe in a backpack, or in the car...) Neko (my cat) wants me to give him the Nemuneko plush, but he has way too much plushes, so I will keep this one... hahahaha.

El estuche es finito pero alto, y también se puede usar como neceser.

The pencil case is slim but long, and can also be used as a cosmetic bag.

También me vino un sacapuntas con dos tamaños de agujero, con forma de gatito asomándose en un jarrón.

It also came with a two-holes sharpener, shaped like a kitten peeking in a vase.

Los caramelos de Puccho son "tipo sugus". Me encanta probar dulces asiáticos, pero son tan monos que aún no los he querido comer...

Puccho candies are similar to our "sugus". I love to try asian candies, but they are so cute that I haven't broke the package yet...

También venía un boli de Hello Kitty ¡¡con tinta negra!! Sé que a muchas os parecerá una tontería ese detalle, pero no me gustan nada los bolis con tinta azul, y, por suerte para mi, este no es el caso.

It also came a Hello Kitty pen, with black ink!! I know that many of you don't really bother about the color of the ink, but I do not like at all the pens with blue ink, and, luckily for me, this is not the case!

Por último venía un trapito "muy cuqui" que usaré para la cocina.

Finally it came with a "kawaii" cloth that I will use for the kitchen.

ANÁLISIS FINAL

Yo he sido muy friki toda mi vida, y las monosidades asiáticas siempre me encantaron (incluso tuve un blog sobre frikadas del estilo), por lo que este tipo de chorradillas me encantan. Mírandolo de forma objetiva, muchas de las cosillas que vienen son "trastos", aunque he de decir que me puse contenta como una niña con zapatos nuevos cuando llegó la cajita, ¡una cosa no quita la otra! Varias de las cosas que vienen sí voy a usarlas en mi vida diaria (el trapo, el estuche, el boli), y en conjunto creo que es una idea chula, aunque personalmente me gusta más como regalo (para otra persona o autoregalo) que como una suscripción habitual. Las suscripciones se pueden anular en cualquier momento (a través de su página o en Paypal), así que creo que repetiré en un futuro, especialmente si tengo que hacerle algún regalo a alguna amiga que le encanten este tipo de frikaditas. Me parece también ideal de cara a las navidades, ya que incluso podría envolver los regalitos por separado, y dárselos a distintas personas.
La pega que le pongo, es que no hay forma de saber por adelantado lo que viene en la caja, y una vez lo sabemos (Instagram, Twitter, etc.) ya no podremos conseguir esa caja, porque con la suscripción nos empezarán a mandar la caja al mes siguiente. Creo que estaría bien poder comprar la caja del mes aunque el mes estuviese empezado.

FINAL ANALYSIS

I have been very geeky/otaku all my life, and I always loved the kawaii asian things (I even had a blog which was named something like 'Diary of an Otaku'), so I really love this kind of cute things. Looking at it objectively, I wouldn't really use some of the little things that come in this box, although I must say that I got excited like a child with new shoes when the box arrived, and I really liked it a lot! Several of the other things that are in this box I know that I'm going to use in my daily living (the cloth, the case, the pen), and overall I think it's a really cool idea, though personally I like to think of this subscription as a gift (for someone else or for ourselves!) more than as a regular subscription. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time (through their website or Paypal), so I think I will repeat in the future, especially if I have to give a gift to a friend that I know that likes this kind of kawaii things. I also find this great for Christmas as we can even wrap the gifts separately and give them to different people.
The downside for me is that there is no way of knowing in advance what comes in the box, and once we know what it comes in (via Instagram, Twitter, etc.) we will no longer be able to get that box, because if we subscribe, the first box that we'll get is the one for the next month. I think it would be nice to be able to buy the box of the month even if the month has started.
